When queried about her billionaire status by a member of the press, Rihanna kept her response short and simple.

Forbes named the singer a billionaire this week, making her the richest female artist and the second-richest female entertainer in the world, trailing only Oprah Winfrey.

Rihanna’s estimated net worth is $1.7 billion, according to Forbes, which is mostly owing to her Fenty Beauty company.

Fenty Beauty is worth $2.8 billion, according to Forbes, making the “Bitch Better Have My Money” singer’s 50 percent stake worth $1.4 billion. The rest of her income comes from her lingerie brand, Savage x Fenty, in which she holds a half ownership and is valued at $270 million, as well as royalties from her long-running music career.

A paparazzo can be heard saying to Rihanna, “Rih, self-made billionaire, what does that mean to you? What does that mean to you?” in a video shot when the singer and Fenty Beauty mogul was shopping in New York City with her boyfriend, rapper A$AP Rocky, this week.

According to Billboard, she had a simple response: “God is good.”

In reaction to her increased financial status, Rihanna’s “Raining Men” colleague Nicki Minaj and other musicians lavished her with compliments. Under a news report about RiRi being worth a billi, Minaj remixed the lyrics of her Young Money sibling Lil Wayne’s “A Milli.” On her Instagram Story, she remarked, “A BILLI-ON here, a BILLI-ON there. Little Bajan bih w/green [eyes] – dat bag iz a different size #IfThisDontInspireYou.”

The R&B singer turned her singles chart success into a massive make-up and fashion business, dwarfing the revenues of other music megastars like Madonna and Beyonce.

Fans have been wondering where Rihanna’s next album, R9, will be released for years.

“To be continued,” Rihanna said of her album in an interview with Entertainment Tonight towards the end of 2019. “I like to antagonize my fans a little bit. Well, they antagonize me, too! So, they get it right back.”

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, a Grammy Award winner, burst into the scene in 2005 with global successes including “We Found Love” and “Umbrella” a duet with Jay-Z.

Rihanna discussed how she’d learnt to prioritize her mental health with so much going on in her career in a June 2019 interview with Sarah Paulson for Interview magazine.

“It’s only the last couple years that I started to realize that you need to make time for yourself, because your mental health depends on it,” she told her Oceans 8 co-star. “If you’re not happy, you’re not going to be happy even doing things that you love doing. It’d feel like a chore. I never want work to feel like a chore. My career is my purpose, and it should never feel like anything other than a happy place.”
