Cosmetic doctors explain Tom Cruise’s dramatic face transformation

Madonna and Tom Cruise have been in the public eye for over four decades…but it’s the 80s megastars’ recent changes in appearance, not their day jobs, that have sparked interest.

Fans have been debating whether Tom Cruise’s round-faced, chubby-cheeked appearance was due to age or a recent syringe assignment since he walked out at a baseball game last weekend.

“Tom Cruise has either gained weight or has a face full of fillers,” one Twitter user said. “I’m going with the fillers.”

“What’s up with the bloated chipmunk cheeks?” another critic commented.

“What he do to his face, same doctor as Wayne Newton?” another  sniped.

Fans have hypothesized that the ever-youthful celebrity has had a nose job, hair transplant, Botox, and veneers on his teeth, despite the fact that he has continuously denied going under the knife.

Elsewhere, Madonna was observed playing an acapella rendition of Like a Prayer in Harlem, her complexion appearing just as peachy as when she originally stormed the charts with the same song back in 1989.

The 63-year-old actress frequently posts images on Instagram of herself with perfect, radiant complexion that a lady 30 years her younger would envy.

Expert opinion

The owner and practitioner of Harley Street Injectables, Alice Henshaw, thinks the Mission Impossible star appears “swollen” – maybe after undergoing surgery.

“Tom definitely looks swollen and puffy,” she told The Sun, “which could be due to filler, post-procedure swelling, or weight gain.”

“I believe he’s had fillers under his eyes and around his mouth and nose in the past, but this time is different.

“A side profile view of him shows his neck is also quite swollen. Filler would not be placed in this area, which signifies it would not be filler but rather swelling or weight gain.

“Often surgical procedure such as a platysmal plasty, or neck lift, combined with a mid-facelift could create this type of swelling in these areas, and scars are easily disguised.”

“At almost 60, Tom’s hairline has remained relatively the same, although slightly thinning, which does suggest he may have had hair transplants.”

According to Dr Nyla Raja, the founder of Medispa clinics in Cheshire and Harley Street, which have a slew of high-profile clientele, the Mission Impossible star may have ‘overindulged’ in fillers based on his most recent public appearance.

‘It would appear Tom has overindulged in anti-wrinkle injections and dermal fillers which has actually had an adverse effect on his appearance,’ Dr Nyla told FEMAIL.

‘Without careful consideration to each individual patients’ facial structures’ results of fillers can make faces “appear distorted and unnatural”.’
