Her account of what happened. Kim Kardashian sobbed on Keeping Up With the Kardashians while describing the troubles in her marriage to Kanye West – her first public remark on the topic.
The 40-year-old reality star is seen breaking down about their failing romance in the latest episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which was taped in early December during the family’s vacation to Lake Tahoe.
Kris Jenner spoke on The Kyle & Jackie O Show ahead of the show’s premier and addressed Kimye’s breakup publicly for the first time.
“I think it’s always going to be hard any time… you know, there’s a lot of kids,” she told the hosts, per People. “The good thing about our family is that we are there for each other and supportive and we love each other very, very much—so all I want is for those two kids to be happy. And I want the kids to be happy. That’s the goal. I think we all want that for our families, just to be able to have… the love and appreciation of one another and just that everyone’s okay.”
When asked if fans will be able to watch the couple’s divorce on KUWTK, the Kardashian-Jenner matriarch remained tight-lipped, stating only, “You might.”
“I don’t know what they have decided on in the finale because we haven’t even seen the first show yet. I’m sure they’re putting some final touches, but I think it’s just a private time for them,” Kris added. “Kim wanted to deal with this with her own family in her own time, so I think that’s going to be for her to work through and process. When she feels like it, I’m sure she’ll say what she needs to say.”
In the episode, we saw Kim argue with her family about cookies she was given while on vacation. However, Khloé Kardashian implied that her sister’s tantrum was about something more serious.

“Kim has been struggling privately behind [the] camera about her relationship, and it’s tough because Kim is clearly redirecting so much of her frustration and sadness,” Khloé stated in her confessional. “Sometimes you just take things out on something that has nothing to do with what you’re going through,” Khloe added, “It’s not the cookies’ fault.”
Khloé approached Kim, who stated that things between her and West, 43, were now “calm.” The Revenge Body presenter, on the other hand, stated that her sister and the rapper “had this big fight” before the trip. Viewers then watched previous footage of Kim weeping while Kylie Jenner sat next to her and Kendall and Kourtney Kardashian listened in.
“I just honestly can’t do this anymore,” Kim said. “Why am I still in this place where I’m stuck for years? Like, he goes and moves to a different state every year. I have to be, like, together so I can raise the kids. He’s an amazing dad, he’s done an amazing job.”
Kim subsequently admits that there has been “no fighting” since she arrived at their vacation house.
The episode then cuts to Kim weeping to her sisters Kendall, Kylie, and Kourtney Kardashian, probably right before the Tahoe trip.
“I think he deserves someone that can and go follow him all over the place and move to Wyoming. I can’t do that,” Kim says.
The mother-of-four, who married Kanye in 2014, also revealed why they split up.
“He should have a wife that supports his every move and travels and does everything and I can’t,” she explained.
“I feel like a f**king failure that it’s a third marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f**king loser.
“But I can’t even think about that, I want to be happy.”
Kim formally filed for divorce from West in February 2021, following a year of rumours about the relationship.
North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm are the couple’s four children. They’ve been married for about seven years and have four children together. The story originated from Kim’s representative, and while there is still little formal information available, TMZ’s sources indicate the divorce was amicable and Kim was seeking shared custody of their children.
Kim hinted in a trailer for the season finale that she intended to divorce Kanye for good. “I always just thought that I could have my kids, my husband moves from state to state, and then I realised, like, no, I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy,” she told her mother, Kris Jenner.
Kim hinted at her intention to break her relationship with West in a trailer for the series finale. “I always just thought that I could have my kids, my husband moves from state to state, and then I realized, like, no, I didn’t come this far just to come this far and not be happy,” she told Kris Jenner.
This episode was shot only weeks after Kanye’s presidential campaign, during which he confessed Kim nearly aborted their seven-year-old daughter, North.
Khloe tells the camera earlier in the show how much Kim has been going through behind the scenes.
“Kim has been struggling privately behind camera about her relationship and it’s tough because Kim is clearly redirecting so much of her frustration and sadness and anger,” Khloe explains.
“Kim is one of the most incredible human beings literally ever and she tries to protect their union at all costs, but it’s hard when you carry that responsibility on your shoulders and I just want her to take care of herself, too.”
