Jennifer Aniston has joined the increasing list of celebrities who have opened their wallets to support the Black Lives Matter campaign.

The actress reportedly gave $1 million to Color of Change, the largest online racial justice group in the United States, according to The Mirror.

“Like most people, Jen has been deeply affected by what is going on in America and the terrible injustice that people of color experience every day,” a source told the newspaper. “She wanted to show her support, and has donated a big sum to the charity she felt resonated with her the most. The link is on her Instagram page, so her fans can also donate.”

The contribution comes in the wake of the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a white police officer squatted for nine minutes on his neck as he informed them he couldn’t breathe.

Last Monday, she asked her followers to join a charity petition demanding that all four police officers implicated in George Floyd’s death be arrested.

“This week has been heartbreaking for so many reasons,” Aniston wrote on Instagram at the time, captioning a video of James Baldwin. “We need to acknowledge that the racism and brutality in this country has been going on for a long time – and it’s NEVER been okay. As allies, who want equality and peace, it’s our responsibility to make noise, to demand justice, to educate ourselves on these issues, and more than anything, to spread love. How much more time are we willing to let pass without change? HOW MUCH MORE TIME? “ Text FLOYD to 55156 and sign the @colorofchange petition to have all four of the officers who killed #GeorgeFloyd arrested.”

Fans can show their support for the nonprofit by becoming members or donating to the cause, which aims to “create a more human and less hostile world for Black people in America.” The Friends star included the nonprofit’s website link on her Instagram page.

The contribution comes as a slew of other celebrities have stepped out to support organizations and individuals working for racial equality. Chrissy Teigen donated $200,000 to help protestors seeking justice for Floyd’s killing, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds donated $200,000 to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund (together with Angelina Jolie), and BTS donated $1 million to Black Lives Matter.

If you’d want to help Color of Change, go to their website and select “Join us” or “Donate.” For a purpose, the group concentrates on economic justice, media justice, criminal justice, and power and voice:

“The forces that shape our lives are interrelated,” the organization says on its site. “We cannot end racism in one area without tackling it in all areas. Racist policing is propped up by racist media narratives on crime and justice. Political inequality is reinforced by economic inequality. Unlivable wages and unfair hiring practices make it easier for corporations to continue to exploit Black workers and consumers.”
