Taylor Swift recently claimed Kanye West never warned her he was going to rap, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / Why? I made that bitch famous” in this year’s “Famous,” but a video Kim Kardashian released on Snapchat shows the two discussing the song.

Kim Kardashian shared the clip of the phone conversation on her Snapchat Story after tonight’s episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. She teased what was to come by tweeting about “National Snake Day” (in reference to Taylor) and encouraging everyone to keep an eye on her Snapchat earlier today.

In the clip, West recites the lyrics, “To all my southside n—-s that know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex” to Swift on the phone, leaving out the last part of the lyric where West says he made Swift famous. She tells him to choose whatever line he thinks is best, and says, “It’s obviously very tongue-in-cheek either way… And I really appreciate you telling me about it. That’s really nice.”

“You gotta tell the story the way that it happened to you and the way that you experienced it,” Swift says at another moment in the chat, ostensibly alluding to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, when West rushed the stage as Swift was winning the award for Best Female Video. “You honestly didn’t know who I was before that. It doesn’t matter if I sold seven million of that album before you did that, which is what happened, you didn’t know who I was before that.”

Ms. Swift quickly responded on Instagram, alleging that she did not approve of the song and that Mr. West had failed to follow through on a promise to play her the final version before it was published. “While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot ‘approve’ a song you haven’t heard,” she wrote.

According to a statement, Taylor had “cautioned him against releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’”

That element of the song – the “bitch” phrase — seems to be the source of Taylor’s angst. In a statement shared on Twitter and Instagram, she asked, “Where is the video of Kanye telling me he was going to call me ‘that bitch’ in his song?”

“It doesn’t exist because it never happened. You don’t get to control someone’s emotional response to being called ‘that bitch’ in front of the entire world … While I wanted to be supportive of Kanye on the phone call, you cannot ‘approve’ a song you haven’t heard.”

She goes on to say, “Being falsely painted as a liar when I was never given the full story or played any part of the song is character assassination.”

“Bitch is an endearing term in hip hop like the word Nigga,” Kanye tweeted in February. Taylor was allegedly never made aware of the difference before the song was released, while another Snapchat video purports to show her endorsing a similar line: “It made her famous.””

Kim said in her Forbes cover article that Taylor was just trying to “play the victim again.” “Taylor cannot understand why Kanye West, and now Kim Kardashian, will not just leave her alone,” a statement from Taylor’s team said.
