Demi Lovato recently advised their fans not to use the phrase “aliens” while discussing extraterrestrials since they believe it is insulting. Neil deGrasse Tyson, on the other hand, strongly disagrees.

Scientist Neil deGrasse Tyson replied to Demi Lovato’s accusation that the term “aliens” is “derogatory” by reminding the singer that aliens “have no feelings.”

Earlier this week, the singer made waves when she ended fan speculation about an impending tune called “Aliens.”

Lovato was asked whether they would consider releasing a song about extraterrestrials, and they replied, “I feel like Katy Perry already did it,” referring to Katy’s 2011 track, “E.T.” When asked whether that suggested they had previously considered it, Lovato replied, “Not really, but I’m fast on my feet.”

“‘Alien’ is a derogatory term for anything, even extraterrestrials,” Lovato told E! News, explaining why she refers to them as ETs.

The singer made the remark while promoting her new documentary Unidentified, in which they investigate the truth of alleged UFO sightings.

The program follows Lovato, best friend Matthew Scott Montgomery, and sister Dallas as they try to contact other worlds.

“I wanted to film everything that goes down when I go and search for these UFOs so that my fans can come along for the ride,” Lovato said of the show. “I think that [ETs] are looking for nothing but peaceful encounters and interactions because like I said, if they wanted us gone, we would have been gone a long time ago.”

The celebrity claims to have had an out-of-this-world experience in Joshua Tree, California. They reported witnessing a “blue orb floating about 50 feet away. It was a beautiful and incredible experience,” they stated.

In an interview with TMZ, astronomer and planetary scientist Neil indicated that worrying about such a thing isn’t in our best interests because planet Earth has yet to make verifiable contact with alien species.

“All the aliens I’ve ever met have no feelings,” remarked deGrasse Tyson in the video. “So to be worried about offending them by calling them an alien… What is [Demi] thinking is going on in the head of species of life from another planet? I mean, I know it’s very considerate… But really?”

He was also perplexed as to why they were “worried about offending them by calling them an alien.” He claimed that we don’t know what “is going on in the head of species of life from another planet.”

Tyson went on to say: “When I refer to aliens — just to be specific — I always say ‘space aliens’. And then, what we used to call aliens on Earth — undocumented immigrants, that’s what the new term is for them, and I’m all in on that. … So what that means is — if we all do that — the only invocation of the word ‘alien’ is for creatures from outer space that want to kill us all.”

He also noted that assuming extraterrestrial species can grasp the term “alien” is dubious because they could not understand any of Earth’s languages in the first place. “Why should I even believe they know English?” he continued. “I don’t get it.”

Lovato paid tribute to their late buddy in a heartbreaking song titled ‘Unforgettable (Tommy’s Song)’ earlier this month.

Lovato wrote: “Two years ago I lost someone who meant so much to me. His name was Tommy and he was such a beautiful, special man. I wrote this song the day after I found out that he had lost his battle with addiction. This disease is extremely cunning and powerful..”

Lovato dedicated the homage to model Thomas Trussell III, who died in 2019 as a consequence of a drug overdose, in an emotional post.

Last month, the non-binary pop artist collaborated with G-Eazy on “Breakdown.” Demi and G reflected on their relationship with the media in the song’s video, addressing news ranging from drug difficulties to adultery rumors.

Lovato told Kelly Clarkson earlier this month about an experience in their bedroom with “three beings.”
