Meghan Markle never planned to remain a member of the Royal Family, according to a royal expert. And her current assertions are nothing more than an ‘excuse to justify what she’s done.’

Earlier this year, the couple announced their resignation from the Royal Family before accusing the institution of racism in an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

According to royal biographer Phil Dampier, Harry and Meghan’s latest charges about other members of the Firm are a “excuse” to justify their desire to quit in the first place.

He told Fabulous: “I don’t buy this that they didn’t help to protect Meghan and I don’t buy she was driven out by racism.

“I don’t think her heart was really in it.

“When you look at some of the projects she’s got involved with and they were seemingly planning a couple of years ago.

“I personally think she never intended to stay in the royal family.

“I’m afraid that blaming members of the royal family and courtiers and how they were treated is just an excuse for what they have done and to justify what they’ve done.”

During their shocking appearance with Oprah, Prince Harry and Meghan alleged that the Firm had isolated them.

Meghan said remarks were made about their son’s skin color before the birth of their first child.

Meghan stated that Archie was denied the title of prince because of “concerns and conversations” about “how dark” his complexion would be once he was born.

Both Harry and Meghan declined to identify the royal who made the remarks, but assured it was neither the Queen or Prince Philip.

Meghan also said she was not provided any help as she acclimated to life as a member of the Royal Family with Harry.

Meghan stated: “There was no guidance.

“Unlike what you see in the movies, there’s no class on how to speak, how to cross your legs, how to be royal.

“That was not offered to me.

“Even down to the National Anthem – no one thought to say ‘oh you’re American, you’re not gonna know that’.

“So that’s me late at night Googling it.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex first announced their retirement as senior members of the Royal Family in January 2020, stating that they wished to be “financially independent”

Harry, 36, also discussed his relationship with his father, Prince Charles, stating he felt “let down” and that he was financially cut off following the so-called Megxit.

Mr Dampier, author of ‘Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan in Their Own Words,’ told The Sun that he does not believe they were driven by racism or that the Palace failed to support the Duchess of Sussex.
