Leonardo DiCaprio has made a wise decision! According to paparazzi images taken in New York over the weekend, the Oscar winner wore a shirt around his waist and then knotted a purple plastic bag over it after threading it through the belt loops of his shorts. He’s now enjoying a hands-free, bag-free life, allowing his appendages to do things like touch his tummy, read something humorous on his phone, and stroll while swinging his arms in equal vacillations.

This is a plastic bag you’d get while buying T-shirts on Canal Street or beer at your neighborhood bodega.

But, even for Leo, this isn’t a good look.

Leonardo DiCaprio went for a walk with cargo shorts, a cap, sunglasses, a sweater knotted around his waist, and a grey v-neck shirt, all of which appeared to be casual weekend clothing.

If you look closely, you’ll notice a circle protruding beneath his shirt just over his left peck. The instrument has been identified as a cardiac monitor by many publications, but before you panic, a source informed Entertainment Tonight that the actor wore the device as part of a normal “checkup” and mentioned nothing about any life-threatening illnesses.

But there’s still the matter of why DiCaprio is wearing a plastic bag in the first place. In 2008, the environmentalist invited followers to sign a pledge not to use plastic bags, and in 2016, he pushed to get single-use supermarket bags banned in California.

If you’re not Leonardo DiCaprio, you should be aware that there’s a big inflow of tote bags and high-style fanny packs on the market, ranging from Louis Vuitton x Supreme and Alexander McQueen to ones manufactured from hiking-ready nylon on the lower end of the scale. Even better, instead of dangling dangerously close to one’s junk, they sit across the torso. Leo may or may not follow our counsel, but we hope you do. Because, like virtually all of Leo’s clothes, this is a one-of-a-kind creation.
