If you thought Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel had the biggest Fast and Furious dispute, co-star Charlize Theron’s might be a new contender.

On Tuesday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 49-year-old Fate of the Furious star reacted to his co-star ‘s comments on the show earlier this month about their on-screen kiss. Theron compared Diesel to a “dead fish,” and said she preferred “more movement” in her men.

Theron’s evil dreadlocked hacker Cypher kisses Diesel’s Toretto in a dramatic sequence in the film, a signal that Toretto has turned his back on his friends and family.

Diesel, on the other hand, isn’t going down without a fight. He pushed back on the claims that he was a lousy kisser, attempting to reclaim his pride in his kissing ability.

When a photograph of the kiss was presented, the celebrity leapt to his feet and attempted to rally the crowd behind him.

“What?! C’mon guys! Do I look like a dead fish?!” Diesel yells, jumping out of his chair after DeGeneres reads him the comments. “First of all, you don’t come on Ellen with the wonderful animation of Finding Dory and compare me to a dead fish.”

“Right or wrong?!”

“I don’t know how that solved anything,” Degeneres responded, “but that’s fine.”

Given that she voiced Dory in both Finding Nemo and Finding Dory, no one should bring dead fish into the mix in front of Ellen DeGeneres, according to the actor, though even Ellen isn’t sure how that clears the water between the two stars.

But he wasted an opportunity to ask, ‘How does Charlize Theron know what it’s like to kiss a dead fish?’

With all of that aside, the actor discusses what makes the Fast and Furious franchise so popular.

“People think of the explosions, the submarines and us outdoing each action set piece,” Diesel emphasizes, “but the core — it’s love. At the core, it’s all love — that’s what makes Fast and Furious what it is.”

Vin Diesel will be back on our screens in the near future, as he will be voicing Groot in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, which will be released on May 5.
