In Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, it’s difficult to say how much cocaine the Stratton Oakmont traders consumed.  However, actor Jonah Hill claims that he ingested enough prop drugs to make him sick.

Hill shared the tale of what happens when you take fake cocaine with Leonard DiCaprio for months on end while making a movie on an episode of Bill Simmons’ new HBO chat program “Any Given Wednesday” this week.

Hill was taken to the ER after overdosing on fake cocaine while filming Wolf of Wall Street.

Hill told Bill Simmons on Any Given Wednesday, “I had to be hospitalized.  If you ingest that much matter into your lungs you’ll get very sick, and we were literally doing fake coke for, like, seven months, every day.”

Hill, who co-starred with Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2013 film as stockbroker Donnie Azoff, got bronchitis for three weeks as a result of the fake drug, which was actually vitamin powder.

“I never had more vitamin D in my entire life; I could have lifted a car over my f–king head,” stated the 32-year-old.

Bronchitis is unpleasant, but it’s not quite as horrible as what happens after taking too much cocaine. According to a 2015 research, it causes your brain to cannibalize itself, and a coked heart can remain pumping for up to 25 minutes outside the body.

Simmons and Hill also discussed the actor’s transition from the humorous to the serious arena. Hill adored Scorsese epics like Casino, but he didn’t have many opportunities when his career began. “To me, there’s not much opportunity when you’re 21 to be in films like Goodfellas,” Hill said. “To break in, it’s not like I look like Brad Pitt or something like that or I was some unbelievable actor when I was a kid. Comedy’s been amazing, because I don’t think I would have broken into entertainment or the film world without starring in movies like that.”

Hill has portrayed a number of hard-partying characters, notably arms dealer Efraim Diveroli in the dramedy “War Dogs,” which will be released on Friday, and he credits Red Bull and coffee for his success.

Hill remarked, “It’s interesting pretending to be on drugs. I’ll use music. I’ll make a playlist for every scene, so I’ll try to make, like, music that [makes me feel] jittery and chaotic … and then just drink a ton of coffee and Red Bull.”

Hill is now promoting “War Dogs” as well as this funny ad for Palace, a British streetwear company.
