We’re not sure why this keeps happening, but Zendaya has once again been the focus of malicious comments. Zendaya became the target of a cringe-worthy, body-shaming rant courtesy of Julie Klausner, creator and actress of the Hulu original comedy series Difficult People, after attending the 2016 Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday in a prettily embroidered dress with lovely retro-waves.

Julie turned to Twitter to body shame her after the event. Favorite Female TV Actress went to the 19-year-old star of the Disney Channel show K.C. Undercover, who has always looked skinny.

Zendaya and her followers fought back with some no-nonsense body positivity after she was attacked for being underweight.

When it comes to speaking out for herself, Zendaya is on a roll. For example, in 2015, the artist was accosted by Fashion Police host Giuliana Rancic at the Oscars for her dreadlocks, prompting an expressive and educational answer.

Giuliana said Zendaya looked “like she smelled like patchouli oil. Or weed.”

Zendaya replied to the offensive remark on Twitter, saying that our culture already has enough harsh criticism of natural hair without adding to it. She wore her hair in locs to show viewers at home that their natural hair is good enough to wear whichever they choose.

First, Klausner retweeted an image of Zendaya at the Kids’ Choice Awards with the caption, “a thinspo model for your impressionable tweens.” She then went on to send a lengthy series of tweets bashing the celebrity once fans retaliated:

“Zendaya’s ultimate retort to Giuliana Rancic is starving herself down to the size of one of her elbowz,”

“You don’t have to have an eating disorder to attend the Kids’ Choice Awards….but it helps!” she added.

Zendaya quickly responded with a retort.

“Do you find this funny? I will write another paragraph to educate you aswell #youreallywannabenext?” she tweeted.

Klausner said, “Can’t wait.”

Zendaya also tweeted, “Now….everyone go look in the mirror at their beautiful body, and love that s—t #thickgirlswinning #skinnygirlswinning #weallwinning.”

It’s a two-way street when it comes to body acceptance. It’s pointless to criticize someone for being overweight, and it’s just as pointless to criticise ladies who are on the opposite end of the range. Every body, whether it has thigh gaps or not, is attractive and should be valued.

Meanwhile, Klausner claims she’s learned to be more careful with her words moving ahead, despite the fact that she hasn’t withdrawn or apologized for her views.

Then she Melissa McCarthy into the discussion, who has been fat shamed and has shown a leaner figure in the last year.

“I will never stop criticizing celebs who perpetuate dangerous beauty standards for a generation of girls who grow up thinking they’re fat,” she continued. “And you know those public fat shamers who fake ‘concern’ for Melissa McCarthy’s health? Consider me your fire with fire.”

“I’m concerned with the generation of girls who aspire to look like Zendaya. I do not worry about Zendaya’s health or care whether she eats,” Klausner said.

“FYI Zendaya and her fans are angry bc I insinuated this isn’t a healthy look. The end,” Klausner said.

She then took it a step further.

“Let’s not fight. Here is my olive branch to Zendaya fans- can we just all agree that 1) all women are beautiful and 2) Zendaya hates Jews?” Klausner joked.

“You’re so sad and pathetic. Ur getting a sick pleasure out of inciting young people. Is this for followers?” one person asked, to which she responded, “Nah, it’s for me.”
