According to reports, Eddie Murphy has agreed to pay his ex-partner and Spice Girl, Melanie Brown, US$35,000 per month in child support for their 15-year-old daughter, Angel Iris.

Brown gave birth to Angel Iris in November 2007 while in a relationship with the comedian. Initially, Murphy denied paternity, but later tests confirmed that he was the father.

Court documents reviewed by the Daily Mail show that the two parties agreed to the new child support arrangement two years after Brown requested additional financial assistance due to a “change in income”.

Prior to this agreement, Murphy had been paying Brown US$25,000 per month under an agreement they settled on in 2009.

According to the new documents, Murphy is an “extraordinarily high earner”, having fathered 10 children with five different women.

The new child support arrangement means that Brown will receive the new payments retroactively from October 2022 up until Angel turns 18 in 2025.

In addition to the child support payments, Murphy has agreed to cover Brown’s attorney fees of US$10,000.

However, the documents also state that Brown will be responsible for “add-on costs” such as health insurance and educational expenses for Angel.

In her 2018 memoir, Brown claimed that Murphy had asked her father for her hand in marriage when they were together in 2006 and got a tattoo of her name on his thigh.

However, Murphy denied paternity of their daughter until tests proved he was the father.

In her book, Brutally Honest, the singer revealed that she and Murphy had planned to marry and have a child together, but she left him and flew home to Leeds after feeling unhappy with the way he lived.

Speaking to Piers Morgan on his Life Stories programme in 2022, Brown admitted that they were both to blame for the relationship’s demise.

In 2018, Murphy posed with all 10 of his children in a Christmas photo for the first time, which included Angel.

In addition to Angel, his children include sons Eric, Christian, Miles, and Max Charles, as well as daughters Bria, Shayne Audra, Zola Ivy, Bella Zahra, and Izzy Oona.

Melanie Brown has two other children, 23-year-old Phoenix Chi Gulzar, and 11-year-old Madison Brown Belafonte.

According to the Daily Mail, the court documents regarding the child support agreement were sealed to protect the children’s privacy.

The new child support arrangement will reportedly ensure that Angel receives financial assistance from her father, who is considered an “extraordinarily high earner”.

Brown and Murphy’s relationship ended dramatically, but the two have moved on, and Murphy has taken responsibility for his daughter’s financial needs.

According to the documents, the payments will be made retroactively to October 2022 and continue until Angel turns 18 in 2025.

Brown will be responsible for Angel’s health insurance and educational costs, while Murphy will cover her attorney fees.

It is clear that Brown and Murphy’s relationship was tumultuous, but it is admirable that they have been able to come to an agreement that will benefit their daughter.

Nevertheless, it is clear that both parties have agreed to a new child support arrangement that will ensure Angel’s needs are met, and that she has access to the resources she requires to thrive.

Despite the challenges they faced, Murphy and Brown have both taken responsibility for their roles in their daughter’s life.

Brown has been open about her struggles with mental health and her past experiences with domestic violence. She has been an advocate for women’s rights and has used her platform to raise awareness of these issues.

Meanwhile, Murphy has had a successful career in Hollywood, appearing in films such as Beverly Hills Cop, The Nutty Professor, and Dreamgirls.

He has also been involved in charitable causes and has used his wealth and influence to give back to his community.
