After they got into a feud in 2020, Snoop Dogg said that he apologized to Eminem.

Snoop (formerly Snoop Doggy Dogg and Snoop Lion, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr.) began the rivalry by saying Eminem wasn’t among his top ten rappers of all time.

Snoop Dogg was the targeted in a few words on Eminem’s 2020 song “Zeus,” which was included on his newest album Music to Be Murdered By.

“And, as far as squashin’ beef, I’m used to people knockin’ me. But, just not in my camp. I’m diplomatic ’cause I’m tryna be. Last thing I need is Snoop doggin’ me,” Eminem rapped. “Man, dog, you was like a (yeah) damn God to me. Man, not really. I had ‘dog’ backwards.”

Snoop said, “He said what he said [on “Zeus”], I respect that. We just going to keep it right there. It’s family business,” on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in January, when asked about the lyrics.

During his roughly 40-minute interview, the Doggystyle rapper publicly apologized to Em and accepted responsibility for his part in the back-and-forth.

“Man I love Eminem. And the thing is, we love hip hop so much, we competitive. We battle rappers, so that was suppose to trigger that in him,” Dogg stated.

“We brothers, and we family so we learn to appreciate each other for what we do and we get down and we had a long conversation about the respect that we have for each other,” the 50-year-old stated. “And the way we need to talk in public about each other.”

He went on to say that his original remarks, which sparked the conflict, were “out of pocket” for him.

“I apologized to him, and I let him know and I’m just bettering myself. I make mistakes,” he finished. “I ain’t perfect, I’m Snoop Dogg!”

Eminem also declared that his battle with Snoop Dogg was resolved earlier this year.

Along with Dr. Dre, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, the two are set to perform together during the Super Bowl halftime performance in February.

Snoop spoke about what fans should anticipate during the halftime show during the interview.

“Dr. Dre is one of my closest associates. When I knew he got the call, I figured I was going to get the call soon,” he said. “But to add Eminem, Kendrick and Mary J. Blige is special. These are his super friends to actually show people why he is who he is.”

He said, “He really wanted to get people what they want. This is an L.A. moment.” During the performance, Snoop hinted that he’d want to hear more Death Row recordings. He also thanked JAY-Z for putting the show together.

The event is a partnership between the NFL, Pepsi, and Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment company, and will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
