Over the weekend, Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac lit up the internet when they enjoyed an unexpectedly sexual moment at the Venice Film Festival.

Fans went crazy on the red carpet Saturday when Chastain and Oscar explained why they were cast as a couple in HBO’s new Ingmar Bergman adaption, “Scenes From a Marriage,” which premiered at the festival. Chastain, dressed in a dazzling red gown, and Isaac, dressed in a traditional black tux, locked gazes, hugged, and kissed, raising eyebrows.

Keep in mind that both of them are married to other people and are close because they’ve known each other for 20 years. They met as undergrads at Juilliard and have already played a married couple in 2014’s excellent but under-appreciated A Most Violent Year.

Isaac took advantage of the opportunity while posing for photographs on the step-and-repeat by grabbing Chastain’s arm and placing a kiss on her inner bicep. In response, the actress burst out laughing, affectionately caressing his face and posed cheek to cheek. This intimate exchange between the costars sparked a lot of discussion on social media, with many individuals lamenting that they couldn’t take the actress’s place.

Chastain wisely used the buzz to promote the couple’s new HBO limited series. Chastain tweeted a photo of Gomez Addams kissing his wife Morticia on the inner arm, along with a smiling devil emoji and the date September 12th, which is when their Scenes From a Marriage premieres.

Working with her old buddy on this performance has been “both a blessing and a curse,” Chastain told journalists at the festival on Monday, since “we got to the point where we were reading each other’s minds, and I was like, ‘Get out of my brain!'” “I felt there was no quiet time on this job,” she joked. “The fact that we can tell each other whatever we wanted, that we could argue, we’re very free. We approach things in a very similar way,” Isaac previously told USA Today about their working relationship in 2014.

Gomez is also voiced by Isaac in the new animated Addams Family films.

Isaac and Chastain admitted to the Associated Press last week that, despite having a high degree of familiarity with one another, they hired an intimacy coordinator to make the series’ bedroom scenes as authentic as possible. Isaac also disclosed that their kids are in the same playgroup, and that one of the problems of working on such a demanding screenplay with a personal friend is that “you care about the person so much.”
