Following her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan Markle’s estranged father, Thomas Markle Snr, called her a liar.

Thomas Markle, 77, made the allegations during an interview with GB News on Thursday, during which host Dan Wootton brought up Piers Morgan’s firing from “Good Morning Britain” after refusing to apologize for saying he didn’t believe what the Duchess of Sussex said in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March.

Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, shocked the world earlier this year when they made a series of allegations about their time as senior royals in a sit-down TV interview.

Thomas reacted to the interview, in which she claimed her father “wasn’t able” to tell the truth about his famed staged paparazzi photos taken before her wedding.

Thomas said: “My first response is what’s going to happen to these children? I don’t know what terrible things are going to happen to these children because I did some photos, I don’t know what they’re talking about, what Harry is talking about, he kept saying ‘if you do that only one kid will be protected’, not two, I don’t know what he’s talking about.

“Why am I being picked on? It seems I’m very easily picked on.”

He added that the “bottom line is I didn’t do anything that horrible”, saying he was “played”.

“I don’t think I did anything worthy of this kind of ignorance,” he suggested.

“I was laying in hospital talking to them from the hospital and they haven’t talked to me since.”

When asked if his daughter was being truthful during the bombshell interview, the former lighting director replied, “No, she lied. She’s been lying for a year. She’s been lying about different things.”

“Lying about the archbishop, I mean, how could you lie about the archbishop? How could you say we got married three days before we got married?” Thomas continued, adding, “The lies are so obvious that I don’t know why she makes them or why she says them.”

Thomas then went on to remark about his daughter, saying, “She’s changed, she’s not the daughter I knew. My daughter was a much more giving, loving person than she is now.”

When questioned if she’d always been able to lie, Thomas replied: “No, no, this is new. This is since Harry.

“I don’t know if he’s the one behind it, but I really think that Harry and some of her friends have changed her. I love my daughter, but I don’t always like what they’re doing.”

Meghan and Prince Harry told Winfrey that they had a private ceremony conducted by the archbishop of Canterbury in the backyard of their home three days before their wedding on May 19, 2018. However, the archbishop told Italian newspaper la Repubblica that May 19 was the couple’s legal wedding day, adding, “But I won’t say what happened at any other meetings.”

Thomas also blamed Harry for his alienation from his daughter.

He said that he gave her flowers for her 40th birthday, but that she did not respond.

“I really didn’t expect to hear back but I tried none the less,” he said.
