Uma Thurman was not a fan of her classic film outfit in “Kill Bill,” according to Quentin Tarantino.

Bruce Lee’s final performance in the martial arts film ‘Game of Death,’ in which he appeared shortly before his tragic death at the age of 32, influenced the look of the katana-wielding character.

Thurman, who plays the Bride in the film series, portrays an assassin seeking vengeance on the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad, which she formerly belonged to. Thurman was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Actress for her part in the 2003 picture, and the Bride’s outfit has remained memorable to this day.

In an interview with ReelBlend, the Oscar-winning filmmaker discussed how much Thurman despised and questioned the yellow tracksuit style when filming the Kill Bill volumes.

“Uma hated the yellow tracksuit. Hated it. Didn’t get it. Thought she looked like a Popsicle, a banana Popsicle. She was just not into it. She had no idea who Bruce Lee was, practically. I finally had to show her Game of Death. She sorta kind of got it. Now, since then it’s become this totally iconic thing. And she probably doesn’t even remember it, But she was like, ‘You’re trying to make me look like a clown!’.”

Despite Tarantino’s memory, the yellow tracksuit isn’t what Thurman remembers hating most about her time filming Kill Bill.

Thurman said a few years back that when filming Kill Bill: Volume 2, Tarantino and producer Harvey Weinstein put him into a malfunctioning automobile for one scene, which resulted in an accident.

In 2018, the actress shared footage of the collision on Instagram. Despite the fact that the actress stated that she did not hold the director responsible for the situation, she described it as negligent to the point of criminality.

Tarantino and the actress ultimately reconciled, and the filmmaker reportedly lamented that he could have done more to prevent the Miramax employees’ misdeeds.

Director Quentin Tarantino has stated multiple times that “Kill Bill: Vol. 3” should be made.

If that happens, he says he’ll cast Thurman’s daughter, Maya Hawke, in the role of The Bride’s Daughter.

“The star will be Vernita Green’s daughter Nikki,” he said in an interview with “Entertainment Weekly” in 2004. “I already have the whole mythology: Sofie Fatale will get all the money from Bill. She will raise Nikki who is the bride Nikki deserves her revenge as much as the bride deserves hers.”
