Another interview with Thomas Markle, another attack on his famous daughter.
Meghan Markle’s father boasted about his intention to continue profiting from her, claiming that “the royals owe me” and urging his daughter, “It’s time to look after Daddy.”
In a Channel 5 documentary titled Thomas Markle: My Story, Meghan Markle’s estranged father gave his side of the story about what transpired between him and his daughter. The shocking episode reveals Thomas speaking up about his split with Meghan, confessing he lied in earlier interviews, and more.
“I want everyone to know that I am not all the trashy things that are being said about me,” Thomas says, explaining why he consented to the exclusive interview. “I want Harry and Meghan to see that this is not fair. To them, I don’t exist.”
In the documentary, Meghan Markle’s father stated that he will continue to accept money for appearances since Prince Harry “owe” him.
“It’s time to look after daddy,” Thomas Markle says in the show, called “Thomas Markle: My Story.”

“I’m going to defend myself, and I’m going to be paid for it,” he added. “I’m not going to refuse being paid for it. I’ll do future things, and be paid for it. I don’t care. At this point, they owe me.
“The royals owe me. Harry owes me. Meghan owes me. What I’ve been through I should be rewarded for. My daughter told me that when I reach my senior years she’ll take care of me. I’m in my senior years now — I’m 75 years old — so it’s time to look after daddy.”
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s estranged father slammed her decision to stand down from her royal duties alongside her husband, Prince Harry, calling it “ridiculous” and accusing her of squandering the royal life “for money.”
“She actually got every girl’s dream,” Markle said. “Every young girl wanted to become a princess, and she got that, and now she’s tossing that away for — it looks like she’s tossing it away for money. … Apparently $3 million and a 26-bedroom home isn’t enough for them.”
Markle staged paparazzi pics befre the wedding, which is apparently the reason why he fell out with Meghan.
Thomas was seen jogging up a hill lifting weights, reading a book titled “Images of Britain,” and getting fitted for a wedding suit in the staged paparazzi photos.
Initials sales totaled at least $100,000, with Thomas receiving a 30% share, according to the Mirror.
They were his answer to the media portraying him as a “dumb, fat slob,” he claimed.
He recounted being approached by a man who said, “I can change your image,” and that the pap assured him he could make him “look respectable.”
“The idea was that these would all be candid shots, discreet, and no one would know they were posed or anything,” he explained, conceding that the images looked “hammy” right away.
“But he keeps saying, ‘You’ve got to trust me. I’ve done this a hundred times,’” he said.
He admits to lying to his daughter and soon-to-be-husband Prince Harry when they contacted after learning of the planned publication.
He stated, “I denied it. And of course that was a lie. I lied to him. I’m not proud of that, but I did.
Meghan has had a tumultuous relationship with her father. Thomas was supposed to walk her down the aisle during her wedding to Harry, but he had a heart attack and had to pull out. While Thomas has previously stated that he got no compensation for the photographs, he confesses in the doc that he earned 30% of the proceeds from their sale.
Markle spoke at length about how he had financially provided for his daughter during the one-hour program, and he said she had given him money numerous times once her acting career took off.
“She has given me some money,” he said. “She gave me $5,000 for Christmas. Most of the money given to me was gifts. Only on one or two occasions did I ask her for a little help, but it was never more than a couple grand.”
Markle, who claimed to get $5,600 per month in retirement money, also said that Meghan handed him $20,000 over two years, which she brought up once when she was unhappy with him.
“The bottom line here is I paid for her college, I paid for her apartments, I paid for everything to get her where she is,” he explained. “I’m not saying she has to pay me back, but I’m saying it’s awfully picky and awfully small to say ‘I gave you all this money’ when it’s $20,000 over two years.”
