Prince Harry plans to return to the UK next month for the inauguration of a statue in honor of his late mother, Princess Diana, after welcoming his daughter Lilibet Diana on Friday, June 4th.

On 1 July, on what would have been Diana’s 60th birthday, a statue of the late Princess will be unveiled at Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden.

The Duke of Sussex and Prince William will attend the occasion, where Ian Rank-Broadley’s likeness of the late Princess of Wales will be unveiled.

Harry, 36, and his brother, Prince William, 38, have been working on and designing since 2017.

The Duke of Sussex and the Duke of Cambridge commissioned it in 2017 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their mother’s death and to honor her “positive impact.”

“The Princes hope that the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on their mother’s life and her legacy,” Kensington Palace said previously of the touching installation.

According to MailOnline, Harry will also pay a visit to the Queen at Windsor Castle while in the United Kingdom. He is reported to have been asked to lunch by Her Majesty.

The spot was converted into a homage to Diana in 2017, the 20th anniversary of her death, with a display of her favorite flowers, including white roses and lilies, tulips and daisies.

The choice of flowers mirrored Diana’s fondness of cream and white blooms, according to Sean Harkin, Kensington Palace’s chief gardener.

According to previous reports, Harry could have missed the inauguration of the monument since Meghan Markle was still expecting their second child. However, Harry will go little over a month after the couple’s daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana Mountbatten-Windsor’s birth.

This will be Harry’s first trip back to the United Kingdom since attending his grandpa Prince Philip’s funeral in April. Since Harry and Meghan just received their daughter, it will most likely be a beautiful reunion for him and the Queen, as well as his brother.

The Queen has expressed her happiness at Harry and Meghan’s decision to name their baby daughter Lilibet – who will be known as Lili – after her endearing nickname given to her by her grandpa George V as a kid when she had difficulty pronouncing Elizabeth.
