Last Friday, Prince Harry, 36, and Meghan Markle, 39, welcomed their second child, a daughter called Lilibet Diana, into the world. Their chosen name pays homage to both the Queen and his late mother, Princess Diana.

Fern, 63, took to Twitter to express her feelings over their decision.

“I rather think Harry and Meghan have played a blinder with Lilibet Diana”

Fern’s fans swarmed to her post to leave comments.

“I agree with you Fern. Best wishes to them x,” one person remarked.

“Yes definitely, they’ll be back in the good books now,” said a second.

A third said, “I agree Fern, they played that brilliantly.”

Baby Lili

A statement from the couple’s press secretary said: “It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world.”

“Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11.40am in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California.

“She weighed 7lbs 11oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home.

“Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet.

“Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honour her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.

“This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

“The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.”

She is Queen Elizabeth’s 11th great-grandchild and eighth in line to the throne.

The new baby is Archie’s little sister, born in 2019, as well as a new cousin for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

However, because the Sussexes live in California and have strained relations with the Royal Family, it is unclear when or if the new addition will meet the queen and the rest of the royals.
