After it was reported that Prince Harry and Meghan took to the streets to dish out food to people with serious illnesses, they were praised as “inspiring”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex kept their identities hidden while distributing meals to the homeless in Hollywood, California, last Easter.

Last Sunday, the couple, who have officially stood down as senior members of the British Royal family, volunteered with Project Angel Food, distributing food to people’s homes.

“They were here Easter Sunday, and then they surprised us on Wednesday,” said Anne-Marie Williams, the communications manager.

“They handed out to 20 of our clients, and they rocked their worlds.” The pair “quietly continued delivering meals to relieve our overworked drivers,” according to a statement from the nonprofit, who have faced an elevated workload since the novel coronavirus lockdown began last month.

Locals in Los Angeles were taken aback when they discovered the royal couple had delivered their weekly food packages.

“Most people didn’t realise it was Meghan and Harry delivering their food until later,” said Richard Ayoub, executive director of Project Angel Food.

“Harry and Meghan told me later that everyone expressed deep gratitude for the work Project Angel Food does, which was incredible and they wanted to make sure I heard that message.

“They wanted to see Los Angeles through the eyes of philanthropy and Project Angel Food.”

“They were completely down to earth, dressed very casually and genuinely very interested in every single person they met,” he said.

“This organisation makes sure the vulnerable are not forgotten and when someone like Meghan and Harry visits a meal to you, it really helps what we do to sink in and it shows that someone cares for you.

“We’re extremely humbled and honored.”

The organization, which was created 30 years ago, cooks, prepares, and delivers 15,000 meals a week to people in Los Angeles to people who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses such as heart disease, pulmonary disease, diabetes, renal failure, cancer, and HIV.

Their visit came amid growing concerns that those served by the charity are at a higher risk of developing health problems as a result of the coronavirus.

After declaring that they planned to leave the Royal family to ‘work to become financially independent,’ the pair moved to California.

They told the Daily Telegraph that they wished to “to do something of meaning, to do something that matters,” but that due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, they are delaying full information and will make an announcement “when the time is right.”

Users on Twitter thanked the pair for doing their part to help the charity do its mission.

“Excellent news, “one of them said

“It’s really great to see that Harry and Meghan are continuing their impactful, community-based, and results-oriented charity work in Meghan’s hometown.

“The Sussexes are true forces for good.”

“This is amazing,” another person said.

“Such amazing human beings.”

Another praised the Sussexes as “inspirational” and thanked the charity for its efforts.

One of the recipients at a building visited by Harry and Meghan defined the moment he realized who was delivering his meals.

Dan Tyrell told Wehoville, “They were both nice and very down-to-earth people.”

“They had masks on, and they were dressed down with jeans, but very nice jeans. I thought that tall red-headed guy looked pretty familiar, and that girl was very pretty.

“Then I saw the large black SUVs with the security guards behind them.”

It comes after they announced that they would no longer work for the royal family.

Despite this, the pair will continue to help the organizations they have represented, stating that “service is universal”

Give me a break. They delivered to 20 people! They should try doing a shift like real workers who care. They surely let everyone know about it and that makes them amazing? Wake up people!
