Adam Sandler has finally responded to the viral footage of him being turned away from an IHOP on Long Island.

Dayanna Rodan, a TikTok user, uploaded surveillance footage of the moment she unintentionally met with the Grown Ups star during her shift at IHOP last month in a video posted to the platform. When Sandler walked in wearing his face mask, the hostess didn’t recognize him and told him it would take 30 minutes to get a seat. Due to the long wait, the actor gracefully left.

In a caption, the IHOP staffer wrote, “Pleaseee come back.”

“Not realizing it’s Adam Sandler and telling him it’s a 30min wait and him [of course] leaving [because] he’s not going to wait 30mins for IHOP,” she said, her face covered with a clown filter.

The TikTok video has gotten over 2.3 million likes so far, and it attracted Sandler’s notice and he tweeted about it on Tuesday.

Sandler joked, “For the record, I only left the IHOP because the nice woman told me the all-you-can-eat deal didn’t apply to the milkshakes.”

Some Twitter users joined in on the joke, suggesting that an IHOP petition for “all you can eat” milkshakes be started.

“Petition for IHop to have “all you can drink milkshakes,”” a user wrote.

Sandler sported a North Face hoodie and basketball shorts in the TikTok video, along with his face mask.

Despite the fact that Sandler seemed dissatisfied in the video, many people praised him in the comments section of the now-viral TikTok for not shaming the employee or exploiting his famous status to gain preferential treatment.

Many others then began sharing their own personal encounters with the actor, who has been labeled “down to earth” by many.

One commenter remarked of Sandler, “I used to serve him regularly. Never served a nicer person.”

Sandler, who was with his daughter at the time, eventually left the pancake house because the wait was too long. According to HuffPost, Sandler’s spokesperson previously acknowledged that the actor in the video was him, but gave no other details.
