Harrison Ford is speaking out about the current state of politics in the United States.

According to reports, while promoting his new picture ‘Call of the Wild’ in Mexico City, the leading man of the ‘Indiana Jones’ film franchise criticized the status of US leadership on topics such as immigration and climate change.

“We’re facing some real pressing issues in America and we’re working hard to sort them out,” he said, describing US immigration policy as “ludicrous” and claiming that the country needs “complete reform.”

He stated, “We need to invite people into the country. Not keep them out. This is the history of America, it depends on immigration.”

Despite the fact that he did not mention US President Donald Trump by name, the iconic actor stated that the country’s position has not changed for the better.

“Basically, the US position in the world is non-essential because of our lack of moral leadership – we have lost our credibility and now we desperately want to get it back,” Ford added.

He stated his fear that science is “being denigrated” when it comes to climate change.

“Science is being ridiculed by people in ideological campgrounds. They are refusing the wisdom, the discipline of science in favor of a political point of view and that has to stop.”

Ford also praised younger individuals for their leadership on the topic, such as Greta Thunberg, a climate campaigner.

“Young people it seems to me throughout the world are taking up the role of leadership that they must do, it’s the natural way of the world,” he said. “I applaud Greta’s part in the leadership of young people.”

“I admire her role representing young people, her courage. Also, I admire her capacity to express herself. Young people it seems to me throughout the world are taking up the role of leadership that they must do, it’s the natural way of the world.”

Ford added, “I consider the threat of the natural world is the single biggest threat to humanity.”

Ford has previously chastised science deniers. He advised voters to “stop giving power to people who don’t believe in science or worse than that, pretend they don’t believe in science for their own self-interest” ahead of the 2018 midterm elections.
