Thomas Markle thinks his son-in-law Prince Harry is ‘very insecure,’ and that his daughter Meghan is bearing the brunt of the abuse directed at her husband in public.

Meghan’s father has previously criticized the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, claiming that he wants to reconcile with them.

According to MailOnline, Thomas has now come out and talked again in a TMZ special which will air on Fox.

“I think that Harry is a very insecure man and I think that’s being shifted on to my daughter…I think she winds up mothering him,” the Duchess’s estranged father says in an exclusive first look published by Mail Online.

Meghan is three years Harry’s senior, and Mr Markle seems to believe that their relationship has an unhealthy dynamic, similar to that of a father and a child.

Since making the shocking announcement that they will retire as senior royals after just 20 months of marriage, Harry and Meghan have been the subject of intense scrutiny.

In other footage from the conversation, the emotional grandfather-of-six expresses his love for Meghan and Harry and says he wants them nothing but the best.

“I hope that they stay together and love each other and take care of their child, my grandson,” Markle expressed his hopes for Archie, whom he has yet to meet.

“I hope that some day we do get back together but I’m 75 so there isn’t a lot of time.”

Since then, the pair has been residing in a mansion on Vancouver Island, Canada.

In recent weeks, the 75-year-old has given a series of personal interviews after saying that the only option he sees to repair his split with his daughter is to speak freely about it.

Mr. Markle seems to hold Harry responsible for making his wife suffer the marriage’s emotional burdens.

Markle has not met Harry in person, but has talked with him on the phone.

He may face Meghan in court, however, as he prepares to testify in a legal fight over a letter she sent to him expressing her sorrow over their breakup.

Markle previously said that he would testify for the publication that the Duchess of Sussex is suing after parts of a handwritten letter to her estranged father were published.

“I wish it hadn’t come to this, but I will certainly testify against the things that have been said about me,” Markle told The Sun.

“The lies. It will be emotional. I don’t know how we will both accept it.

“It would be the worst place to have to meet her and Harry.”

It comes after Thomas said that he would give a monthly interview until his daughter Meghan and son-in-law Prince Harry accept him.

Her father’s interviews come after the couple’s shocking announcement earlier this month that they would be stepping down as senior royals.

Buckingham Palace subsequently announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be relinquishing their HRH titles and repaying ‘Sovereign Grant expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage’ as part of a new arrangement.

More than a dozen individuals with connections to Harry and Meghan are interviewed for the hour-long program.

Piers Morgan and Ryan Seacrest will be on the program to provide their thoughts on the Sussex’s moves.

“I think that the Kardashian family has built extreme interest in their lives. Obviously there’s massive interest in Harry and Meghan,” says Seacrest of Kardashian fame.
