Jennifer Lawrence, who has a long list of memorable roles, recently lamented during a roundtable discussion with The Hollywood Reporter that there was one coveted role she was hoping to land that never came to fruition: her good friend Emma Stone’s leading role as Olive Penderghast in Easy A.

Lawrence informed her friend how badly she wanted the role, resulting in a fascinating dialogue between Oscar winners.

When asked to select a favorite phrase from one of their films, Stone, 29, referenced the 2010 comedy.

“‘Piss off, Quiznos.’ That’s from Easy A. I shove a Quiznos guy and say, ‘Piss off, Quiznos,'” she shared.

“I auditioned for Easy A. I wanted it so bad,” Lawrence, 27, then revealed.

The La La Land star remarked playfully, “Well, guess what? You didn’t get it. You didn’t get it because you suck!”

It’s no secret that the two actresses are best friends who like teasing one other. When asked if they would ever collaborate at the roundtable, Stone said yes.

“I would love to. I keep trying to convince her,” Stone replied. “I have so many ideas.”

Lawrence then disclosed that the two have been working on something, but it’s still a secret for the time being.

“There is one idea that’s floating around, but it’s a secret,” the Mother! star revealed, adding, “Yeah, it’s a secret idea.”

When Lawrence inquired if she had forgotten about the plan, Stone insisted, “No, I was just trying to be a good secret-keeper.”

This is the second revelation of Lawrence attempting and failing to land a job that would subsequently become legendary. She also tried out for the role of Serena van der Woodsen in Gossip Girl. Of course, we all know who received it, ahem, Blake Lively. “We did not realize this at the time, but Jennifer Lawrence really wanted to play Serena and auditioned,” Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz explained. “This story came to us secondhand, but we were told she definitely auditioned and was bummed to not get it.”

Stone and Lawrence reconnected this past weekend at the Governors Awards in Los Angeles, where they snapped funny red carpet photographs together. Stone also ran into Andrew Garfield, her ex-boyfriend.
