After flying home on a private aircraft just months after warning the world about climate change, Prince Harry has been called a “fake eco-warrior” and a “hypocrite.”

The Duke of Sussex made his first public appearance since the birth of his daughter Lili on Thursday, when he took part in a polo tournament in Aspen, Colorado, to raise money for his charity Sentebale. The New York Post stated that hours later, Prince Harry boarded what is thought to be his wealthy friend Marc Ganzi’s $60 million Gulfstream aircraft to return home to Santa Barbara, California.

The prince has been mocked on Twitter, with one of his most vocal critics, Piers Morgan, calling him “two-faced.”

The Daily Mail provided photographs of the alleged plane landing in Santa Barbara, however Prince Harry was not identifiable in the photos. The two-hour trip “could have emitted as much as 10 tons of [carbon dioxide],” according to the publication. Requests for response from the duke’s representatives have yet to be answered.

As one Twitter user put it: “Yesterday, Prince Harry took a private jet home from a polo match – after lecturing us all about how climate change is one of the world’s “most pressing issues”

“A total hypocrite. Elite environmentalism is about telling the little people to know their place.”

“If this two-faced twerp tries to lecture us again about carbon footprints, ignore him,” Mr Morgan said.

“You couldn’t make it up! Fake eco-warrior Prince Harry takes yet another private jet flight – this time to go to a posh polo match,” British journalist and broadcaster Dan Wootton wrote on Twitter. “Just remember this is a bloke hectoring us all about air travel. Given his actions, he should be roundly ignored.”

Prince Harry has already spoken about the significance of environmental preservation, and he and Meghan Markle have both acknowledged that climate change is one of the most pressing challenges confronting our age.

A second commenter stated that Prince Harry’s “fake wokeness about the environment” simply proves that affluent celebrities should not be the face of the environmental movement since they “love their privileges” and would not give them up.

Another person said, “These fake climate change champions want you to do as they say, not as they do,” and added, “Jog on.”

Prince Harry stated in an interview with Oprah: “Kids growing up in today’s world, pretty depressing right.

“Depending on where you live, you home country is either on fire, it’s either underwater, hoses or forests are being flattened.”

Other people came to Prince Harry’s defense, pointing out that the polo event in which he competed earned millions of dollars for the charity, which helps “vulnerable children and young people in Southern Africa who are impacted by extreme poverty, inequality and the HIV/AIDS epidemic.”

“That posh polo match helped raise [$3.5 million] for children with AIDS, but you’re not interested in that, are you? You need to take your own advice and ignore him,” one person commented.

This isn’t the first time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been chastised for their public climate change speeches.
