Kit Harington and Rose Leslie may no longer share the screen on Game of Thrones (RIP Ygritte), but the IRL couple has plenty of happy memories of their onscreen romance.

In a recent interview with People, Kit said that his favorite sequence Leslie did for the program had her tragically dying in his arms while a horrific fight raged around them.

Due of its setting and the drama unfolding around them as The Night’s Watch combat Wildlings during the invasion on Castle Black, Kit, 32, remembered the scene as “beautiful” and “incredible”

Before dying in her lovers’ arms, Ygritte is mortally wounded by an arrow, and she speaks her famous line: “You know nothing Jon Snow.”

“I liked her death. I know, it sounds bizarre,” Harington told People. “I thought she nailed that. And it’s the first time in ‘Thrones’ that slow motion was used and I think it’s a beautiful, cradling moment as this battle is raging in the background. It was one of those incredible shots.”

The unforgettable scene took place in the ninth episode of the fourth season, titled The Watchers On The Wall.

To be fair, it was a rather dramatic scenario, and one that will stick with fans for a long time.

In 2012, Harington and Leslie, both 32, sparked romance speculations for the first time. After a brief breakup, the pair reconnected and announced their relationship in 2016.

However, the couple’s relationship hasn’t always been smooth sailing, with Harington becoming uncomfortable during Rose’s love scene with another guy.

‘I went to see a movie Rose did called Honeymoon where she spends half the move snogging with my friend Harry Treadaway,’ Kit told The Mirror. ‘About five minutes in I had to close my eyes because I couldn’t stand it.

‘I was sitting between Rose and Harry and it was awful.’

In September 2017, they announced their engagement in the Times of London.

In June 2018, Harington and Leslie tied the knot in the bride’s ancestral castle in Scotland. Peter Dinklage, Maisie Williams, Sophie Turner, and Emilia Clarke were among the guests.

Having fans associate the real-life couple with their character’s love story has a drawback, according to Harington. When asked about his aspirations for the future of the Game of Thrones ensemble, the actor expressed concern that they would never be able to collaborate again.

“The saddest thing is that we may never be cast again together because we’re too synonymous with Thrones,” he says. “You know, I’d love to work with Sophie [Turner] on something, but are people only going to see Jon and Sansa? It’s gonna be hard to get away from that. I’d love to work with Rose, but we’re married and we played these lovers, so are we ever going to get to do that?”
