For his wife Keely’s 58th birthday, Pierce Brosnan wrote a touching tribute. The 68-year-old actor gushed about his “luscious love” as he posted a photo of his longtime lover in a bikini on Instagram a day after her birthday on September 25.

Behind a coconut, Keely smiles up at the camera, wearing huge sunglasses and a short purple dress. Pierce, Smitten, wrote: “My beautiful luscious love Keely on her 58th trip around the sun yesterday… apres swim, making coconut water. Happiest of birthdays it was!”

Keely’s fans and celebrity pals were eager to give her their best wishes. Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad wrote, “I love you two so much,” while Chelsea Handler said, “Happy birthday, Keely! You are beautiful!” Paris, the couple’s youngest kid, also posted three red love hearts for his mother.

The pair first met in Mexico in 1994 and were married in 2001 in Ballintubber Abbey in County Mayo, Ireland.

Paris, 20, and Dylan, 24, are their two sons. With his late first wife, actress Cassandra Harris, the former James Bond star had two more children, Christopher, 48, and Sean, 38. She died of cancer at the age of 43 in 1991. Pierce and Cassandra shared the late Charlotte. His 41-year-old daughter died of cancer as well.

Pierce openly spoke about his sadness on stage during the Stand Up To Cancer program in September 2015.

“To watch someone you love have his or her life eaten away bit by bit by this insidious disease, that part of your sorrow becomes an indelible part of your psyche,” he added. “I held the generous, strong beautiful hand of my first wife Cassie as ovarian cancer took her life too soon.

“Just last year, I held the hand of my funny, wonderful daughter Charlotte, before she too died from this wretched inherited disease.”

In a 2017 interview with Esquire, the actor discussed the sickness and how he lost both his wife and daughter to it. “I don’t look at the cup as half full, believe me,” he told the site. “The dark, melancholy Irish black dog sits beside me from time to time.” Pierce eventually wedded Keely, a writer, novelist, and television personality, in 2001. Pierce talked about life with his wife and children while chatting to Gentleman’s Journal for the summer edition in July 2021.

“I cherish family very much,” he remarked. “I cherish being a father. I did not grow up with a father figure or with a solid family. There was deep fracture, a certain isolation and an aloneness which wielded the wonderful power of my imagination. I had to get by on my own sensing and intuition,” he continued. “So I value and love the family. Keely is the most amazing mother and woman — I’ve watched her grow up over 27 years, watched our life together just blossom and grow. And there are still many more dreams to be had.”

Last year, on Shaye Smith’s 57th birthday, the actor posted a happy selfie with her.

His other half is seen clutching a cocktail while the star of The Thomas Crown Affair smiles joyfully alongside her.

″Happy birthday Keely my darling, thank God for you angel heart,” he wrote.
