Mariah Carey has a good sense of humour.

Carey shared photographs of her Thursday evening train journey, in which she is seen smiling with producer Jermaine Dupri and Stephen Hill, the head of music programming and specials at BET Networks, dressed in a flashy light blue gown with black sunglasses.

She accessorized the glitzy gown with a plunging neckline, fingerless gloves, and stiletto heels.

“Glimpses of our joyride on the 1 train #subwayincouture,” the diva captioned the images as she left the Fresh Air Fund Spring Gala at Chelsea Piers last night.

Before boarding the 1 train, she joked, “I figured since I’m underdressed, we might as well take the subway.”

She points to a trash-strewn walkway and says, “Avoid this area!”

For those of you who want to see Mariah Carey on the subway, she also released a series of Vine videos of her approaching the station and doing fantastically Mariah things like twirling in her dress and exclaiming, “It’s like sparkles against filth.”

Carey said that she hasn’t used the metro in “a while”

And, despite what her coiffed-out, polished-up look may suggest, the singer claims she enjoys hanging out in the open air.

“Do I look outdoorsy to you?” she joked to PEOPLE earlier in the evening at the Fresh Air Fund gala, before adding: “Actually, I am outdoorsy. More than you know.”

Would she be interested in glamping?

“You know, it would really have to be pretty glam for me to want to do it, and there d have to be a reason in somebody who really wanted me to go there to do that and have that experience,” she explained. “Then maybe glamping could be fun.”

Her journey came to a close with a cab ride.

Carey’s current album, “Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse,” is on track to become her 17th top 10 album on the Billboard 200 list, as previously reported. Def Jam Records published the album on May 27.
