Bryan Cranston, who plays Walter White on Breaking Bad, has revealed that his life was very identical to Walter White’s when he inadvertently became a suspect in a murder inquiry.

Cranston recently informed Jimmy Fallon on “The Tonight Show” about being a suspect in a murder in the 1970s.

Cranston and his brother worked at the Hawaiian Inn in Florida for a chef who was loathed by his colleagues. That chef was assassinated one day, and the Cranston brothers were pursued and questioned by the police because they had left town around the same time.

The 60-year-old explained that everyone “hated” their boss, Peter Wong, and that the employees would joke about how they would get rid of him if they had the opportunity.

“The chef was horrible, he hated everyone, he was mean and awful,” the actor recalled. “We would talk about how we would we kill Peter Wong. I would talk about how I would chop him up and cook him up!”

“We were just goofing around,” Bryan explained.

“But someone wasn’t! Someone actually did kill him and put his body in the back of a truck.”

Police interrogated the restaurant personnel after his death.

Bryan recalled the officers asking, “Did anybody ever talk about hurting or killing Peter Wong? And all the waiters are like, ”Yeah, all of us”.”

Bryan stated they were riding up the East Coast while his coworkers told police how badly the Cranston brothers loathed the chef.

‘They were looking for us! They put an APB out on our motorcycles and looking for us. … We were somewhere north of the Carolinas,’ recalled Bryan, who escaped capture with his brother.

Following their departure from town, the brothers were suspected of fleeing because they had committed murder. Nonetheless, he and his brother were able to establish their innocence, and no further concerns were raised; however, it is unclear what happened to the chef. But it’s likely that it helped Cranston get into character.

The story was first described in A Life in Parts, the new memoir by the Breaking Bad star.

The memoir, which is also available as an audiobook narrated by Cranston, is an explosive tell-all in which the actor discusses his first relationship as well as some poignant and amusing episodes in his life.

In the memoir, the Hollywood star also revealed how he lost his virginity to a prostitute.

Cranston dated an ex-girlfriend named “Ava” who he claims was a stalker before meeting his wife, Robin Dearden. He describes a horrible nightmare in which he imagined venting his anger on Ava by pounding “her head against the wall with a metronomic consistency. Clumps of hair and bits of skin and brain matter stuck to the brick.”

In an extract provided by EW, Cranston also discusses “the most harrowing scene I did on Breaking Bad,” which was the [SPOILER ALERT] Season 2 death of Jesse Pinkman’s lover Jane. He takes listeners inside Walter White’s head, explaining how he transforms into his characters and the emotional toll it has on him.

Bryan is currently working on three feature projects for release in 2017, including The Masterpiece, Power Rangers, and Last Flag Flying.
