Despite the rupture with the Royal Family over Megxit, Prince Harry’s first meeting with Prince William and Kate Middleton to introduce Meghan Markle to them went just as planned.

Meghan chose one word to describe the moment in her and Harry’s engagement video with the BBC’s Mishal Hussian: “wonderful.”

Following a blind date and a vacation to Botswana, Prince Harry and Meghan enjoyed a whirlwind relationship until Harry proposed during a “cosy night” in the cottage at Kensington Palace in 2017.

“It was exciting I mean I’ve — you know I’d been seeing her for a period of time when I literally didn’t tell anybody at all,” Prince Harry remarked of the encounter between Megan and Kate.

“And then William was longing to meet her and so was Catherine, so you know, being our neighbours, we managed to get that in a couple of — well quite a few times now and Catherine has been absolutely…”

“Wonderful,” Meghan interjected.

Ms Markle went on to compliment other members of the Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II, with whom she now has two children.

Meghan said: “I think, you know, to be able to meet her through his lens, not just with his honour and respect for her as the monarch, but the love that he has for her as his grandmother, all of those layers have been so important for me so that when I met her I had such a deep understanding and of course incredible respect for being able to have that time with her.

“And we’ve had a really — she’s — she’s an incredible woman.”

“It was exciting,” the Duke of Sussex told the BBC. “I mean, I’d been seeing her for a period of time when I literally didn’t tell anybody.”

While Meghan initially talked favourably of the royal family earliy in their relationship, tensions have increased after her and Harry’s contentious appearance with Oprah Winfrey.

In 2018, the pair married a year after their engagement in a ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Camilla Tominey, the former royal editor of The Sunday Express, first revealed Harry and Meghan’s relationship in October 2016.

Despite a few joint recent appearances, including the inauguration of a memorial dedicated to their mother Princess Diana at Kensington Palace, there is talk of a split between Prince Harry and Meghan following their choice to abandon their Royal responsibilities.

Prince Harry stated in a 2019 ITV program that he and William had “good days” and “bad days”

In the recent Lifetime TV movie “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace,” William, Duke of Cambridge, appears to be portrayed as a villain over racial concerns.
