In a since-deleted social media post about pals who had “distanced” themselves, Jessica Mulroney fueled rumors about her rift with Meghan Markle.

On Sunday, August 1, the 41-year-old celebrity stylist went to Instagram to explain her mental health following the “intense treatment” she received in 2020 as a result of her social media comments against blogger Sasha Exeter. Sasha, a Black lifestyle influencer, said Jessica displayed “very problematic behavior and antics” in reaction to one of Sasha’s posts, in which she pushed her fellow influencers to utilize their platforms to support the Black Lives Matter movement. Following the altercation, the Canadian native was fired from her recurrent spot on Good Morning America and chose to take a break from social media for many months.

Jessica may occasionally post something cryptic on social media or swiftly remove a seemingly meaningful post, fueling the “Jessica and Meghan are feuding” rumors. This month, Jess committed two alleged Instagram offenses that British tabloids have pointed to as proof that she and Meghan are feuding.

The 41-year-old Canadian became reflective in the Instagram post, discussing mental illness and lamenting the loss of her job and friends. She wrote, “I’ve spoken about mental illness for years as well as being a hard worker my whole life but never thought I’d have to go through intense treatment the way I did this year.”

“I don’t blame anyone, any company who erased me without investigations or what the press made me go through,” Jessica went on.

Mulroney, who was previously considered the duchess’s best friend, was not among those who publicly celebrated Meghan Markle on her 40th birthday (best friend forever). She was also excluded from the royal’s global “40×40” project. Since the duchess went to California, there have been rumors that their friendship has soured, although neither party has acknowledged or denied them.

As a consequence of the 2020 exchange with Sasha, Jessica and Meghan’s friendship was allegedly strained, with one insider telling Us Weekly at the time that Jessica’s conduct was “hugely offensive” to the Duchess of Sussex. According to a source close to the situation, their friendship was “definitely” different.  “I don’t know what the tipping point was, but Jess has been on the outs for some time,” the source said. “Their friendship is definitely not what it was.”  While their relationship looked to be improving for a time—Meghan bought Jessica flowers in March—it appears that certain rifts are too deep to heal completely.

She continued, “Just working on myself. All the pain is now in the past. Sending all my followers (heart emoji) who have loved and supported me through this journey.” Then she seemed to reference her friendship with the Duchess of Sussex as she closed her post, “It can be lonely having the world, friends distance from you and not even ask how you are. But thankfully, you find the things that truly matter…”

With a mysterious paragraph uploaded to her Instagram Stories in June, Jessica hinted that she and the Duchess of Sussex may no longer be friends. “Life changes. You lose friends. You lose pieces of yourself that you never imagined would be gone,” a quote read. “And then, without even realizing it, those pieces come back. New love enters. Better friends come along. And a stronger, wiser you, is staring back in the mirror.”
