On Wednesday, Prince Harry stunned guests at the WellChild Awards event at London’s Kew Gardens. Prior to congratulating the victors, he discussed parenting with a pal, musician Ed Sheeran.

Prince Harry attended a special celebration honoring the charity’s outstanding children and young people, as well as the healthcare professionals who care for them.

“Congratulations, a girl right?” Sheeran asked the Duke of Sussex.

“Two is definitely a juggle,” Harry noted.

Harry discussed the contrasts between Lili and her older brother, Archie. He described her as “chill” whereas Archie is “running around like crazy.” That may be owing to their ages, but Harry appeared content to share.

“We’ve been lucky so far, she’s very chilled and seems happy to just sit there while Archie is running around like crazy,” Harry told Hello!.

In 2019, Sheeran married Cherry Seaborn. Lyra Antarctica, their daughter, was born last year.

After the singer surprised the young victors by taking time to speak with them at their socially distant tables, Harry and Ed caught up.

“He was so down to earth, it was really nice to see him back here,” said visitor Steph Freeman of Harry’s visit.

According to the organization’s website, WellChild is “the national UK children’s charity making it possible for children and young people with exceptional health needs to be cared for at home instead of hospital,” Since 2007, Prince Harry has been a supporter of WellChild. He and the Duchess of Sussex attended the awards event in 2019 to recognize youngsters and the healthcare professionals who care for them. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, the event was canceled in 2020.

During his conversation with Harvey Eustace, 11, and his family, the Prince also mentioned his newborn daughter.

Harvey, who has Autism and ADHD, got a special recognition award for establishing a memorial garden in his town for people to visit and remember relatives they lost during the Covid-19 epidemic.

“Since becoming patron of WellChild in 2007, this organization and the people within it have held an extraordinarily special place in my heart,” Harry said during the ceremony. “I wasn’t a father at the time, and yet the stories of these children and parents transcended that. I didn’t need to be a dad to feel the impact of this invaluable work. Now as a father of two, I feel all the more connected, inspired and in awe of the resilience of these families, who power through indescribable challenges with the support of WellChild.”

“The health of our children, of all of us, could not have been more on the forefront of our minds during the past year. And, throughout this time, the WellChild community has set an example for how to show up and act with compassion for each other. I could not be prouder to be here, to meet this year’s WellChild award winners, to thank the nurses and doctors for all they do, and to celebrate these amazing families.”

Singer Anne-Marie sang three songs for the winners: Our Song, Rockabye, and The Day We Fell in Love.

Prince Harry has been in the United Kingdom since June 25. Along with Prince William, he will attend the unveiling of a Princess Diana monument on Thursday.

When asked about the installation of Diana, Princess of Wales’ monument at Kensington Palace on Friday, the Duke replied, “I’m just so glad we can do it on what would have been her birthday, we weren’t sure we would be able to.”
