Lilibet Diana has arrived! The birth of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s baby girl was announced in an official statement on June 6, two days after she was born in Santa Barbara, California, and the whole royal family is rejoicing.

Her Majesty and the royals expressed their “delight” at the news and paid a moving homage to the parents and their newborn daughter, who has been named after the Queen.

“The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news of the birth of a daughter for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” a Buckingham Palace official said in a statement.

The formal greeting was followed by an Instagram post featuring a photo of Harry and Meghan from their wedding day three years ago.

“To The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, congratulations on the birth of Lilibet Diana!” Buckingham Palace stated in an Instagram message.

According to the palace, baby Lili joins the royal family’s already huge brood. “Her Majesty’s 11th great-grandchild is Lilibet.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge tweeted: “We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili.

“Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie.”

Prince Charles and Camilla also sent a greeting on Instagram, writing: “Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie on the arrival of baby Lilibet Diana.

“Wishing them all well at this time.”

They used a photograph of Harry and Meghan with Archie taken in South Africa in September 2019, during their only royal tour as a family.

The couple revealed in February that they were extending their family following the birth of their son Archie in May 2019. “We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” the pair’s rep told Us Weekly in a statement at the time. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”

This follows Prince Harry’s resignation from Royal responsibilities in March, when he accused the Firm of “neglect” and said that his father, Prince Charles, made him “suffer” as a youngster.

During a dramatic broadcast with Oprah Winfrey in March, Harry and Meghan accused a senior member of the Firm of being “racist.”

Harry and Meghan also left a touching statement on their Archewell Foundation website.

“On June 4th, we were blessed with the arrival of our daughter, Lili. She is more than we could have ever imagined, and we remain grateful for the love and prayers we’ve felt from across the globe,” they wrote. “Thank you for your continued kindness and support during this very special time for our family.”

Princess Eugenie, Harry’s cousin, congratulated him on Instagram.

“Congratulations dear cousins… we couldn’t be happier for you all,” she wrote.

The statement was accompanied by emojis of love hearts.

Lili and Meghan are both doing well in their Montecito home. When Lili’s birth was announced, Meghan and Harry’s Archewell website explained her name. “Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales.”

Prime Minister Boris Johnson also congratulated the Sussexes on the birth of their daughter, saying, “Many congratulations to The Duke & Duchess of Sussex on the birth of their daughter.”
