The Duke of Sussex has spent the year 2021 delivering blow after blow to the Royal Family and monarchy.

Harry has slammed the Firm and his father, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, in a podcast and two separate TV appearances with Oprah Winfrey.

Experts have cautioned Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that their ongoing criticism of the Royal Family may be “poking the bear”

According to royal sources, there may soon be “consequences” if they persist.

“The Palace have always gone with the never complain, never explain approach,” said Rebecca English, royal journalist for the Daily Mail.

“Can we really expect that to carry on? Surely there will be a tipping point?”

“The Palace genuinely don’t want to get drawn into a public slanging match with Harry and Meghan,” she added.

The most recent documentary might have been the last straw for the senior royals.

The royal family’s comments during the broadcast appearance were the “tipping point”.

Among Harry’s criticisms was the idea that The Firm “attempted to smear” his pregnant wife Meghan Markle.

Harry allegedly criticized his father’s upbringing and claimed that members of the Royal Family “expressed concern” over the newborn Archie’s skin color.

In March, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle gave a 2-hour ‘tell-all’ interview to Oprah Winfrey in which they explained why they were quitting the Royal Family and accused The Firm of mistreatment.

In the episode, which aired earlier this month on Apple+ TV, the Duke, 36, told Oprah Winfrey that “growing up is depressing” but that “we’re all in this together”

While individual members of the family have declined to comment, Buckingham Palace issued a statement saying, “While some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”

“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved family members.”

Following discussions with Prince Charles, Prince William, and the Queen at Sandringham, Harry and his bride Meghan Markle announced on January 8, last year, that they will stand down from top posts within the Firm.

Meghan and Harry have recently moved to California with their son Archie Harrison, after spending the previous year in Canada in search of a more secluded lifestyle.

Harry is expected to return to the United Kingdom this summer.

Since the explosive interview, Prince Harry has revealed more about his interactions with the Royal Family.

He compared living with the Royal Family to a cross between The Truman Show and living in a zoo during an interview on Dax Shepard’s podcast Armchair Expert.

The Duke of Sussex also worked with Oprah Winfrey on their Apple TV+ series ‘The Me You Can’t See,’ which investigated the stigma around mental health.

Saturday Diary Editor Richard Eden of The Mail questioned why Harry had to keep “dragging his family into it”

“It’s very good that Harry has spoken about his mental health and his therapy and that may be encouraging to other people, particularly men.” he said.

Thousands of people have signed a petition asking Prince Harry to leave the royal family for good, “for the good of the monarchy.”
