While it’s difficult to imagine Meghan Markle as anything other than the Duchess of Sussex, she was previously known as an actress and the editor of her own lifestyle blog, The Tig.

The Sun on Sunday claimed, quoting blogs she wrote seven years ago, that Markle dreamt of being a princess long before marrying British royal, Prince Harry, in May 2018.

“Little girls dream of being princesses. I, for one, was all about She-Ra, Princess of Power,’’ Markle wrote in 2014, while noting the “pomp” surrounding Britain’s Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding three years earlier.

“For those of you unfamiliar with the ’80s cartoon reference, She-Ra is the twin sister of He-Man and a sword-wielding royal rebel known for her strength,” Markle wrote on her blog.

“We’re definitely not talking about Cinderella here,” she continued.

“Grown women seem to retain this childhood fantasy. Just look at the pomp and circumstance surrounding the royal wedding and endless conversation about Princess Kate,” Markle said.

Aside from her misquoting the title of the lady who would one day be her sister-in-law (Her Royal Highness), The Duchess of Cambridge has never been or will ever be referred to as “Princess Kate” and this statement is, if not a blazing gun, then a strangely warm-to-the-touch one.

One of the primary themes that came from Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s March interview with Oprah Winfrey was how completely unprepared she was for royal life.

“I went into it naively because I didn’t grow up knowing much about the royal family.

“I didn’t fully understand what the job was. It wasn’t something that was part of conversation at home. It wasn’t something that we followed.” Meghan revealed

“But you were certainly aware of the royals,” Winfrey said.

“Of course,” Markle said.

Meghan, on the other hand, stated that she did not “Google” Harry before meeting him.

Furthermore, many of Meghan’s childhood pals have said that she was a big fan of the royal family, notably her husband Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana.

According to Ninaki Priddy, Meghan was “always fascinated” by the royal family and aspired to be “Princess Diana 2.0.”

Meghan, according to royal author Andrew Morton, watched Diana’s burial with “tears coursing down her cheeks.”

This isn’t the first time Markle has had a link to the royals, as an old photo of a 15-year-old Markle standing outside Buckingham Palace recently went viral for essentially forecasting her destiny.

Meghan was very aware of the unique craziness that accompanies royalty as she sat in front of her laptop remembering her penchant for She-Ra seven years ago. Similarly, her allusion to “endless conversation” would imply that she was aware of the deluge of attention, as well as the amount of scrutiny and criticism that a woman marrying into the royal family may suffer.

Meghan had written an article for the magazine she was carrying, describing how her favorite sunglasses were her Ray Ban aviators.

The photograph was shot a few years before Meghan Markle began seeing Prince Harry in 2016, and she had no idea that Kate would soon become her sister-in-law.

The two ladies have now “fallen out” with Meghan saying in her bombshell Oprah interview in March that Kate “made her cry” over bridesmaids gowns for her wedding.

Markle is dealing with the same “pomp and circumstance” and “endless conversation” as a result of her own royal wedding.
