Ahead of the airing of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Oprah interview on Sunday, royal aides have accused the Duchess of Sussex of “bullying.” But, according to Meghan’s friend and former Suits co-star Patrick J. Adams, it is Kensington Palace insiders who are genuinely guilty of “obscene” bullying conduct.

The actor defended the Duchess of Sussex Meghan on Friday, following recent reports that the wife of Prince Harry bullied workers while living at Kensington Palace.

Adams commended Meghan for being “enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive” when they worked on the program together in a lengthy Twitter thread.

On Friday, March 5, Adams (who portrayed Meghan Markle’s TV husband Michael Ross on the USA law drama Suits) tweeted, “Meghan Markle and I spent the better part of a decade working together on Suits.” “From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, cooperative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family. She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued.”

“She has always been a powerful woman with a deep sense of morality and a fierce work ethic and has never been afraid to speak up, be heard and defend herself and those she holds dear,” he continued. “Like the rest of the world, I have watched her navigate the last few years in astonishment.”

But, he continued, difficulties arose for the Duchess after she “fell in love, moved to a new country, became a household name across the entire globe and began the difficult work of trying to find her place in a family dynamic that can at best be described as complicated and at worst, seemingly archaic and toxic.” “It sickened me to read the endless racist, slanderous, clickbaiting vitriol spewed in her direction from all manner of media across the UK and the world,” Adams added, “but I also knew Meghan was stronger than people realized or understood, and they would regret underestimating her.” “On any sort of decent planet, that would be a time to stop sharpening the knives and let these two people enjoy the magical early months and years of starting a family,” the actor said, adding, “On any sort of decent planet that would be a time to stop sharpening the knives and let these two people enjoy the magical early months and years of starting a family. But we don’t live on that planet and instead the hunt continued.”

According to the British newspaper The Times, former communications secretary Jason Knauf filed a bullying complaint against Meghan in 2018, stating that she “drove two personal assistants out of the household and was undermining the confidence of a third staff member.”

Buckingham Palace quickly said that it was investigating the incident and was “clearly very concerned” about the claims.

Meghan’s spokeswoman claimed she was “saddened” by the latest attack on her character.

Adams went on to criticize Meghan’s press coverage since joining the Royal Family, calling it “racist” and “clickbaiting vitriol.” He also expressed his disgust that the tabloid bashing did not stop when Meghan was pregnant or after she gave birth to Archie in 2019 – in fact, it worsened. The Sussexes’ experience was so terrible that it played a significant influence in their dramatic decision to walk down from their formal duties as members of the Royal Family.

The breakup has stressed the relationship even further. As further rumors circulate about the spouses, Meghan feels that the Royal Family is actively involved in “perpetuating falsehoods” about her rather than protecting her, and Adams agrees.

Adams concluded the Twitter thread by attacking the royal family once more, claiming that the monarchy has outlived its usefulness and is “bankrupt of decency.”
