The Queen is said to have given Prince Harry’s TV series with Oprah Winfrey her blessing after being misled by a proposal that claimed it would be about soldiers’ mental health.

According to reports, the Queen approved Prince Harry’s TV show without knowing he would use it to trash his own family.

When Harry used the five-part Apple TV+ program to attack his father and the monarchy, the queen was said to be shocked.

“Those around the queen and Prince Charles are absolutely gobsmacked by what has happened,” a source described as being “close to Buckingham Palace” told DailyMail.com, adding, “It is a question of trust, and honestly any of that is hanging by a thread at the moment.

“No one within the Palace circles has anything but sympathy for Harry’s trauma and troubled life, but there is upset and discomfort at him sharing it on an international television show.

“Certainly the intimate detail of his hardships paint a very negative picture of his family and upbringing. Many people have a different view.”

When Harry originally pitched it to her as a TV documentary about mental health with Oprah Winfrey in 2018, the Queen is believed to have granted him “her blessing.”

During the interview (his second with the American host), however, the former royal accused Prince Charles of let his children to ‘suffer,’ and that the monarchy and the media were attempting to ‘smear’ his wife.

According to the insider, the show’s original premise and description were then “pushed to the side,” with Harry opting to launch a “attack on his father and childhood.”

According to the source, no one in the senior royal circle would have consented to the series if they had known what it would feature beforehand.

Harry was reportedly outspoken on the need of military veterans receiving proper mental health care when they returned to civilian life.

He did not, however, indicate what personal information he would be exposed on camera.

The Queen and Meghan’s father, Thomas, are said to have discussed the series with Harry.

Harry sits down with Oprah in the brand new docuseries to explore his shock and anguish at his mother’s death, as well as how the Royal Family supposedly did ‘nothing to help him.’

Harry believes he’s finally free to talk about his innermost thoughts after four years of therapy after meeting his wife Meghan Markle.

Apple revealed that Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey will conduct a follow-up town hall-style event to their mental health documentary, prompting the sharp response from palace insiders. On Wednesday, Apple TV+ said that the five-part miniseries The Me You Can’t See drew a 25% increase in new viewers to the platform.

The new single spin-off program, The Me You Can’t See: A Path Forward, will be accessible for free on Apple TV+ on Friday, according to Apple TV+. It will have Harry and Oprah interviewing some of the original show’s “advisers and participants” for “a thought-provoking, wide-ranging conversation about mental health and emotional well-being, and where we go from here,” according to Apple.

The series was announced in 2019 with a statement from Prince Harry as a five-part AppleTV initiative, which aims to “highlight and destigmatise” the mental health issues that many people face throughout the world.

He wrote: ‘I truly believe that good mental health — mental fitness — is the key to powerful leadership, productive communities and a purpose-driven self.

‘It is a huge responsibility to get this right as we bring you the facts, the science and the awareness of a subject that is so relevant during these times. I am incredibly proud to be working alongside Oprah on this vital series.’
