Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis celebrate their late grandmother, Princess Diana, every year on Mother’s Day in the United Kingdom, despite the fact that she died years before they were born.

On Sunday, the British date for the Mother’s Day celebration, Prince William and Kate Middleton published this year’s cards on the Kensington Royal Twitter account.

The message included cards created by their children, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, for William’s mother, the late Princess Diana, as a gesture to all who are without their mothers this year.

“Each year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte, and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William,” the royals wrote. “Whatever your circumstances, we are thinking of you this Mother’s.

In his card, 7-year-old Prince George wrote, “Happy, happy mother’s day. I love you very much and think of you always.”

Louis, who is just two years old, stuck bunnies and frogs on a heart with abstract expressionist colors next to it.

“This year Mother’s Day will be different once again,” read the message from William, 38, and Kate, 39 posted on Instagram. “Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again.”

Princess Charlotte also made Princess Diana a card. The 5-year-old princess wrote, “Dear Granny Diana, I am thinking of you on Mother’s Day. I love you very much. Papa is missing you.”

To commemorate Mother’s Day, the children prepared a cake for their mother, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. A snapshot of the cake was posted beside a photo of little Kate with her own mother.

After a vehicle pursuit in Paris that ended in a collision, Princess Diana died. She and ex-husband Prince Charles have two kids, Prince William and Prince Harry, whom she divorced in 1996.

Talia Lakritz of Insider earlier claimed that Prince William talks about “Granny Diana” before putting his children to bed.

For the first time since the Duke of Sussex’s joint tell-all with wife Meghan Markle on March 7, William and Harry, 36, will reconnect. During an interview on the Lorraine show on Friday, March 12, royal analyst Russell Myers stated that the royal siblings will attend a memorial for their late mother in July. A statue of Diana will be revealed.
