According to a recent global poll, Meghan Markle is the most popular member of the British Royal Family – but it’s close.

The Duchess of Sussex, who left the royal family and went to the United States with her husband, Prince Harry, and their baby Archie, came in first, beating Kate Middleton and the Queen.

She received a popularity score of 14.5%, surpassing Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, who received 14.4%.

Kate Middleton, a mother of three, did, however, come up on top in Instagram searches, being a skilled photographer who frequently takes candid photos of her three children.

Her Majesty the Queen was placed third in the study by online buying site OnBuy, with a rating of 14.3 percent, demonstrating how close the top three are.

Despite the controversy around “Megxit” and a decrease in public appearances due to Covid-19 limitations, the Duchess of Sussex remains the most popular royal among royal fans.

They created a popularity score for each of the British Royals using YouGov rankings, Google search volumes, the Royal calendar, and Instagram.

Meghan has the greatest Google search traffic of any royal, with over six million queries per month on average.

In striking contrast, Prince Harry’s popularity has plummeted in the aftermath of ‘Megxit,’ with YouGov’s Royal Favorability Tracker showing the 36-year-old having a 71% favorable rating in October, which dropped to 55% following the revelation.

In the OnBuy poll, he beat out Prince William as the fourth most popular UK royal.

Prince Andrew was rated the least popular UK royal in the world, with a score of just 1.2 percent, perhaps understandably considering his ties to paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

In a June YouGov survey, Brits’ affection for the flame-haired Prince had waned over the previous eight years, with only 35% considering him a national asset, compared to 75% in 2008.

The Duke of Sussex received a 14.2 percent score.

With 13.8 percent of the vote, Prince William was rated fifth.

Prince Andrew, who is under fire, is in lowest position, with a popularity rating of only 8%.

“Beginning the year in the dawn of the Prince Andrew scandal and ending it with the fourth much-debated season of The Crown, the royal family has remained a global spectacle during 2020.”
