Following a spat over eggs, Meghan Markle allegedly received strong words from the Queen, according to a royal book.

Prior to her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018, the former TV actress visited Windsor Castle to taste some of the food that would be served at the reception.

Meghan, 38, had requested a “macrobiotic alternative” to accommodate the diets of some of her Hollywood friends, according to royal author Katie Nicholl.

According to Yahoo’s Royal Box: “(Meghan) got very upset when she felt that she could taste egg in a dish when she was told there was no egg in there, and she said, “No, I can taste it, I can taste there’s egg in this dish.”

‘I think there was a bit of an upset when suddenly the Queen walked in, because of course, this was Windsor Castle, this is her home.

“And she just quietly took Meghan to the side and said, “Meghan, in this family we don’t speak to people like that”.’

Meat, dairy products, and sweeteners like sugar, as well as black tea and fizzy drinks, should be avoided, according to macrobiotics.

Katie also said that Meghan and Harry might potentially “shake up tradition” by employing an American nanny.

“We’ve come to expect that this is a couple who do things differently, they’ll shake up tradition, they’ll push those boundaries.

“I think there’s every chance the nanny could be an American, I think it’s probably quite likely that they’re not going to be a Norland nanny.

“I certainly hear that Harry would like to have a more relaxed approach to their parenting.”

While the Queen and Meghan Markle have been spotted enjoying each other’s company, they have also apparently endured some rough times.

The monarch reportedly ‘had words’ with Prince Harry about his ‘difficult bride’s’ tiara choice.

The Duchess of Sussex was believed to have her heart set on an emerald tiara, but she was advised she couldn’t wear it because the green stones could have come from Russia.

According to a royal insider, the Queen intervened and informed Harry, ‘She gets what tiara she’s given by me.’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child soon.

Katie expects the new parents to ‘do things differently’ than the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, particularly when it comes to childcare, as the Duchess of Sussex is likely to give birth any day now.

A royal fan captured police escorting a car “lined with pink blankets” towards Frogmore Cottage earlier today, leading royal enthusiasts to believe Meghan is pregnant.

The couple has opted to break with tradition and keep the specifics around the birth a secret, which means no one knows where the baby will be born.

The Sussexes have ‘occupied the spotlight’ since the Royal Wedding, according to Katie, author of Harry and Meghan: Life, Loss, and Love, but she dismisses suggestions that their claimed plans to move abroad will result in them being ‘exiled from Britain.’

‘My understanding, [Harry] knew he had met “the one” and that they wanted to be an international couple,’ Katie explained.

Meghan Markle is expected to give birth by Monday night, according to bets placed by punters.

The young royal will be seventh in line to the throne, as well as the Queen and Prince Philip’s seventh great-grandchild, and supporters are eagerly awaiting any signs that the time has come.
