John Travolta and his stunning wife Kelly Preston were among the first couples to acquire land in the Jumbolair Aviation Estates, where they now reside. Because the actor is an aviation enthusiast and a qualified private pilot with five planes and a massive 16-car garage, it’s only right that his home has two runways leading directly to his front door!

“We designed the house for the jets and to have at our access the world at a moment’s notice, and we succeeded at that,” a bearded Travolta remarked on Australia’s “Today” on Thursday. “For the last 11 years, we’ve been able to globe-trot for Qantas and movies … I’ve been really able to operate out of this house for business and personal reasons.”

The “Saturday Night Fever” star is said to have an office where he keeps his American Airlines Boeing 707 and Qantas 747 pilot certificates. It also houses his award for aviation excellence.

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics bestowed this honor onto him. The exterior of the actor’s home is dazzling white and contains masonry and columns.

“I fell in love with aviation when I was five years old,” John Travolta said, explaining why planes are everywhere in his home. This is in my blood.” “It was always John’s dream to have planes in his front yard — to practically be able to pull up to the house — so that when you wanted to go to dinner, all you’d have to do was step out the door, get on the plane and whisk off”, said Kelly Preston. John Travolta added: “You can be the ultimate eccentric, like I am, and bring in Boeing 707, but you can also bring in any corporate jet or airliner”. Travolta expanded the taxiway to reach the home, despite the fact that the property had a 7,500-foot runway.

“It’s really a midcentury-style home,” actor John Travolta says of the Florida residence. Designer Sherri James adds, “John had a vision of how he wanted everything to be. We just implemented his ideas.”

Travolta allegedly transported his Qantas Boeing 707, dubbed the “Jett Clipper Ella,” to the home when he initially moved in. The plane was named after his children, however Jett Travolta, his firstborn, passed away in 2009.

In his backyard, Travolta also has a Challenger jet:

Travolta’s affiliation with Qantas began when he obtained his pilot’s license and flew a Qantas 707 to Sydney to promote his film Swordfish in 2001. “It’s been the best years, in terms of my personal dreams coming true. Being part of an airline, part of aviation… at a magnitude like Qantas. They’re the best airline in the world, they have the best safety record, the best service, and to be part of that and to be allowed in… it’s a privilege,” said the aviation junkie.

“Now I’ve made a profession out of flying in addition to acting, and at my age I’m glad I did, because it’s something to do when you’re not working,” Travolta told “Today.”

Kelly Preston and John Travolta are both scientologists. Following the earthquake in Haiti in 2010, Travolta piloted a plane full with volunteers, medics, and supplies to aid in the relief effort.
