The birth of Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor defies royal convention yet again.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are likely to keep the identity of their baby daughter’s godparents a secret, following a private christening.

The couple announced on Sunday that their daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor was born on June 4th, weighing 7lb 11oz, at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California.

She was delivered at 11.40 a.m., according to the couple’s press secretary, “in the trusted care of the doctors and staff”

According to a story in the Daily Telegraph, Lilibet’s parents are going to keep the names of her godparents a secret, just as they did when her older brother Archie was born.

The couple has entire control over publicizing information about the birth and introducing their daughter to the world, thanks to their separation from the Royal Family.

The Duke and Duchess’ son was born at a time when they were contemplating retiring from their roles as working members of the Royal family.

As a result, they treated their son’s birth as a mostly private family affair. Meghan had no intention of showing off their new baby on the hospital stairs as the Duchess of Cambridge and Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, had done in the past.

Meghan and Harry cuddled Archie at a formal photocall at Windsor Castle two days after his arrival in May 2019, but they may not reveal a photograph of Lilibet for a while.

The pair has been extremely protective of Archie’s privacy, revealing only a few photos of him as as a baby and toddler.

This comes after rumours that the Queen has asked Harry to lunch, marking their first private meeting since he left the royal service last year.

Next month, Harry will return to the United Kingdom to witness the unveiling of a new Princess Diana statue.

The Queen will have the opportunity to talk things over with her grandson at the intimate lunch.

“It’s a typically magnanimous gesture by Her Majesty,” a royal source told the Daily Mail.

“The lunch will be a chance for them to talk things through.”

According to the source, the invitation was sent out before Lilibet was born.

In April, Harry, 36, traveled across the Atlantic for Prince Philip’s burial, although he only talked to the Queen in the company of other royals.

Harry, who is believed to have a close relationship with the Queen, is expected to meet with her to discuss the multiple bombshell allegations he has lately made about his upbringing in the royal family.
