Twitter users are criticizing Harry and Meghan’s ‘awkward’ and ‘airbrushed’ Time magazine cover, with some stating their friend’s gushing homage about the pair’s ‘struggle’ makes them want to ‘vomit,’ after the couple was named to the 2021 list of the world’s 100 most influential people.

On Wednesday, the magazine published a cover photo of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, showing them with strangely luminous smooth skin, creepy bright eyes, and, in Harry’s case, suspiciously longer hair.

People took to Twitter to express their feelings over the purported retouching.

One critic said the cover photo represented the power dynamic in the relationship because Meghan stands in front of her husband, writing on Twitter, ‘Wow, this photo speaks volumes. There is no hiding who’s in control’ However, Dilys Ng, Time’s photo editor who made the ultimate selection on the cover image, stated that the shot depicts the Sussexes’ “powerful dynamic as equal partners.”

Another individual wrote on Wednesday, “The airbrush is doing some heavy lifting there.”

Another person believed the couple looked like royals from a Disney cartoon film, commenting, “Terrible retouching job. They look CGI.”

Others said, ‘This photo looks photoshopped. Also, the way they are positioned is very revealing: it’s the Meghan show and Harry is just the supporting actor’. Another critic added: ‘Harry looks completely awkward peering behind his wife like this’.

“The cover looks so fake… oh wait it’s because they are,” someone else wrote.

Others, meanwhile, chastised Time for positioning Meghan in front of Harry for the picture.

“Who approved this shot?! Is he standing? Is he sitting? Is he holding on to her shoulder so he doesn’t fall? Why would you make such lovely looking people look like this?” one Twitter user inquired.

Someone else said, “Its like he’s cowering behind her

“Jesus I thought this was a parody account with a clearly photoshopped creepy cover. Then I noticed the blue tick. Wow has @TIME fallen. Hard,” another tweeted.

“Is Harry wearing a rug? Or just overdone … airbrushing?” a different user asked.

Another person compared the image to the Step Brothers movie poster, and many people wondered why Harry, who is significantly taller than Meghan, was positioned at an identical height.

Others, on the other hand, seemed unconcerned with the cover and congratulated the couple for the shot.

“Amazing cover! Love all the good work they are doing despite the vicious attacks coming at them by The Firm,” wrote a fan. “Keep up the good work #HarryAndMeghan! Your humanitarian work speaks for itself.”

“If you zoom in on the photo, you’ll see all of Meghan’s beautiful freckles. … and their beautiful, benevolent hearts really should be the focus, don’t you think?” a Sussex supporter wrote.

On the cover, Harry is dressed in all black and Meghan is dressed in all white on a terrace at their $14.65 million house, and then in green, smiling and holding hands as they stroll across their estate in Montecito, California.

The former “Suits” actress, 40, and her royal husband, 37, were included to the Time 100 list for their charitable efforts with the Archewell Foundation.

“They turn compassion into boots on the ground through their Archewell Foundation. They give voice to the voiceless through media production,” chef José Andrés wrote in a short essay about the pair.

“Hand-in-hand with non-profit partners, they take risks to help communities in need – offering mental-health support to black women and girls in the US and feeding those affected by natural disasters in India and the Caribbean.”

‘In a world where everyone has an opinion about people they don’t know, the duke and duchess have compassion for the people they don’t know. They don’t just opine. They run toward the struggle’.

Markle and Harry topped the list’s “Icons,” which also included music singer Britney Spears, country legend Dolly Parton, tennis player Naomi Osaka, and Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny.
