Actress Sydney Sweeney has shared how her sx scenes in the TV series Euphoria have contributed to an increase in her body confidence.

In an interview with actress Christina Ricci for the latest installment of Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, Sweeney discussed her experience playing the character Cassie, who “doesn’t know how to communicate without showing her body.”

Sweeney explained that Cassie uses her body as a form of communication, but never learned that it isn’t necessary.

However, Sweeney emphasized that she never felt discomfort while filming these scenes due to the presence of intimacy coordinators on set.

These coordinators ensure that the production is aware of the emotional well-being of the actors during these vulnerable moments.

Sweeney stated that she was fortunate to be starting her career at a time when there is such an emphasis on the emotional safety of actors during intimate scenes.

Sweeney went on to describe the choreography that goes into filming these scenes, saying that there are options like yoga mats, pads, and yoga blocks that can be used as boundaries between the actors.

She also mentioned that the coordinators ask the actors on the day of filming if they have changed their minds about anything they had previously agreed to, giving them the opportunity to opt out.

Sweeney added that the presence of intimacy coordinators has created a “safe” environment for her on set and that she has never felt uncomfortable.

As a result of this, she has become “very confident with [her] body through Cassie.”

This isn’t the first time that Sweeney has spoken positively about showrunner Sam Levinson’s approach to filming intimate scenes.

In a previous Teen Vogue cover story, Sweeney defended Levinson after her words were “twisted” by another publication, which made it seem as though she had asked Levinson to cut some of her nud scenes.

Sweeney clarified that Levinson is a “respectful” and “incredible” director who would never make her do something she wasn’t comfortable with.

“It was more how respectful Sam is and how incredible of a director he is, that he would never make me do something I didn’t feel comfortable with,” she said at the time. “I think [nudity is] important to the storyline and the character. There’s a purpose to what that character is going through. That’s the character”
