The last moments of a woman’s frantic struggle for life in an elevator have been captured on camera in Brazil.

Tatiane Spitzner is seen fleeing away from Luis Manvailer as he stalks her through an underground garage in terrifying footage.

She enters a lift, where he hits and kicks her before strangling her and hurling her corpse from their fourth-floor balcony, according to authorities.

The suspect is seen hauling the victim’s lifeless corpse up in the elevator and presumably washing traces of blood off the walls 20 minutes after entering their flat.

Last Thursday, forensic investigators from Parana’s Medical Legal Institute (IML) produced a report concluding that the lawyer was strangled while in the couple’s flat, rather than dying from a fall.

On July 22, the 29-year-old victim’s bloodied and damaged body was discovered inside the couple’s residence in Guarapuava, in southern Brazil.

The 32-year-old university biology instructor was accused of killing his five-year wife after violently attacking her, but he claimed they argued and she died after hurling herself from their flat’s balcony.

According to forensic specialists, Ms Spitzner was choked to death while urgently trying to defend herself.

The imprints of two hands were on her throat, and the hyoid bone, which is placed in the front of the neck, was cracked, which is a frequent injury linked with strangling.

A 40-foot fall onto concrete pavement resulted in many fractures throughout the remainder of the lawyer’s body.

There was no ‘evidence of any chemical reactions’ in her body, such as adrenalin and cortisol traces, that would suggest panic and knowledge of plunging to the earth, according to the study.

According to experts, she was already dead when she struck the ground.

According to forensic specialists, tests revealed considerable blood alcohol levels in the victim’s blood, “which suggests she was quite vulnerable.”

She tried to flee many times, according to CCTV footage obtained in an underground parking park and lift.

“Our investigation proves that the victim was killed inside the apartment by asphyxiation and her body was thrown over the balcony of the apartment. We believe the accused then took the elevator to the ground floor and collected Tatiane’s body, taking it back up to the apartment in the elevator,” said criminal prosecutor Dunia Rampazzo.

“We suspect that before she was killed, Luis subjected his wife to a prolonged period of violent physical aggression. This was not a suicide, but femicide (the killing of a woman by a man on account of her gender). The aggressor then attempted to escape by car.”

Residents in the building confirmed witnessing a guy scooping up the victim’s corpse off the pavement after hearing a lady scream for aid. ‘My love, wake up,’ he shouted, according to one witness.

Manvailer allegedly acknowledged to taking the corpse up in the elevator to the unit, according to police. He then flees the area in a vehicle, according to security footage.

After crashing on a highway 300 kilometers from the city, he was arrested on suspicion of murder and said he left because he was ‘too disturbed’ by ‘images of his wife jumping’ to stay.

The tragedy sparked national anger and sparked a national conversation on domestic abuse and women’s vulnerability in a country where 1,133 women were murdered in 2017.

Last year, an average of 530 women per day reported experiencing domestic abuse, according to the Brazilian Forum for Public Security.
