Jennifer Garner unintentionally sent a selfie to the wrong person during a ‘humbling’ text exchange while looking for her Alias co-star Carl Lumbly.

Garner, 49, mocked herself on Instagram on Friday by posting a snapshot of a text interaction she had with someone she thought was a former co-star. “Carl — this is Jen G. Here comes proof ,” she texted the phone number.

“Wrong number,” the individual texted back minutes before her image was delivered, so Garner joked, “Hahaha. Well, this is me!”

Her second message started, “I’m looking for my old,” and we believe it continued, “friend Carl,” according to the screenshot she provided on Instagram. We don’t know how Definitely Not Carl reacted to the idea that they were messaging with a famous person because she didn’t share further screenshots of the rest of the message.

“You know the one time you take a selfie to prove to someone you’re you?” the actor said in the caption. “And get a ‘wrong number’ message just as it’s gone out into the world. Well, it’s humbling, isn’t it.”

Garner added, “#IfYouAreWorkingWithCarlLumbly #PleaseTellHimImLookingForHim #BristowAndDixon.”

The embarrassment was well-received on social media, with many calling it “hilarious.”

“This is fantastic. You’re amazing,” one guy wrote.

“Imagine getting this text?! I would die of happiness lol,” someone else said.

Meanwhile, Lumbly’s “Alias” co-stars had their say on the woman, who portrayed Marcus Dixon on the program. “I’ll find him,” Kevin Weisman, who portrayed Marshall Flinkman in the ’00s series, promised Garner. “Where is he??? I miss him too” Greg Grunberg, who played Eric Weiss, said.

In Alias, Garner played Sydney Bristow with Marcus Dixon, who was played by Lumbly.

Between 2001 and 2006, the popular series aired. Alias’ actors reunited earlier this week to mark the 20th anniversary of the show’s launch on September 30.

Garner shared an old photo of her cast and them during the reunion on social media. The video featured Michael Vartan, Merrin Dungey, Kevin Weisman, Gina Torres, Mia Maestro, and Victor Garber. Lumbly, who played the Falcon in “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” was absent from the video.

The actress told The Hollywood Reporter in March that she’d be open to a remake of the series.

“Sign me up,” she said to the publication. Garner also hinted that she’d “grab Bradley by the scruff of his neck,” alluding to costar Bradley Cooper, who was absent from the reunion photos.

Scott Foley, Garner’s ex-husband, recently spoke out regarding the couple’s relationship, saying that they keep things “civil” but “do not keep in contact.”
