After signing a new multi-picture agreement with Netflix, Jennifer Garner is reteaming with the streaming service on a Yes Day sequel and other projects.

The original, starring Jennifer Garner from Dallas Buyers Club and Édgar Ramrez from The Undoing, is based on the 2008 comedy Yes Man (starring Jim Carrey), in which the word “no” is forbidden.

According to Netflix, the family comedy debuted in March and was watched in 62 million homes, making it the company’s largest kids and family movie to date. Garner and Édgar Ramrez star as parents who are stuck in a “no” loop with their three children until they resolve to say yes to everything (within certain limitations). The notion of “Yes Day” was inspired by something Garner would do with her kids after reading Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s children’s book of the same name.

Netflix’s Head of Global Film, Scott Stuber, had this to say about the multi-picture deal:

“As an actor, she’s [Garner] proven herself to be incredibly versatile in unforgettable roles spanning fast-paced action, heartfelt comedies, and thought-provoking dramas. She approaches every aspect of her work with such detail and preparation, which makes her an extremely valuable partner and producer. We look forward to celebrating another Yes Day with Jen and collaborating on many other exciting projects.”

Added Garner: “Having known Scott for fifteen years, there is a reason his relationships in the business stand the test of time. He is as true blue as he is smart and intuitive about filmmaking. Reed [Hastings], Ted [Sarandos], and Scott have built a safe, collaborative home for storytellers— I am honored to join the awesome group of creatives in the Netflix family, and I am extremely excited to work with their passionate and innovative teams across all departments. I had the most gratifying, creative experience bringing YES DAY to life. Seeing Netflix’s global reach as the Torres family wreaked havoc in homes all over the world makes me eager to dive in with another Day of Yes; I can’t wait. I am grateful for Netflix’s continued support and look forward to mixing it up across the board with this partnership.”

Outside of the agreement, Garner will feature opposite Ryan Reynolds, Zoe Saldana, and Mark Ruffalo in the Netflix sci-fi thriller The Adam Project. She will also appear in and produce the comedic film Family Leave, which is based on Amy Krouse Rosenthal’s book Bedtime for Mommy.

Garner is represented by Linden Entertainment, CAA, The Lede Company, and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern lawyers Jason Sloane and Harris Hartman.

The Yes Day sequel still hasn’t been given a release date, and Netflix hasn’t said anything about Garner’s future projects. Yes Day is streaming exclusively on Netflix right now.
