The late Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex, according to renowned Royal author Andrew Morton, would have been two birds of a feather. Mr Morton said on ITV’s Loose Women that both Royals had a similar experience while working for the Firm.

Morton feels that the Duchess of Sussex would be a “fellow spirit” for Diana.

“There are endless stories about Meghan… Diana would see a fellow spirit,” he added.

“After just a few months inside the Royal Family herself, Diana, who was not bi-racial or divorced or American, she was part of the aristocracy… she was being called a fiend and a monster by the newspapers.”

‘She was being accused of really ruling the roost at Kensington Palace, when at that time she was just trying to survive.’

Mr Morton went on to describe the Duchess of Sussex and Princess Diana’s “remarkable symmetry” as Royal spouses.

“At that time she [Diana] was just trying to survive,” he said.

“Fast forward to Meghan’s years… She too was struggling with depression and suicidal thoughts, just like Diana. There’s a remarkable symmetry here.

“I’m sure she would have felt a real commonality of feeling.”

Mr Morton also notes that Princess Diana and Meghan Markle have been the focus of severe media scrutiny.

Speaking of Diana’s grandkids, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s three children, Morton claimed Diana would have been a “glamourous granny,” “fighting for weekends away for George, Charlotte, and Louis with Carole Middleton.”

Princess Diana was killed in a vehicle accident in 1997, when Harry was just 12 years old.

A monument of the late Princess of Wales will be unveiled at Kensington Palace on July 1 to commemorate what would have been her 60th birthday.

To honor the occasion, Harry and William collaborated on the creation of a statue of their mother.

Morton thinks she would have felt compelled to repair the seeming rift between Harry and William.

The Dukes of Sussex and Cambridge will walk to the statue and reportedly make separate remarks during the ceremony.

Meghan and Harry, who have two children, Archie and Lilibet Diana, have been outspoken about their life in the Royal Family since stepping down as senior members and relocating to the United States.

Following his and Meghan’s shocking interview with Oprah Winfrey, royal fans are eagerly awaiting their reunion for the modest ceremony.

It will be the brothers’ first face-to-face meeting since Prince Philip’s burial in April.

However, Harry has allegedly barred a number of media outlets from covering the event and has “kicked off at the idea.”
