Anna Faris continues to be an open book with fans, reflecting on her broken marriage to Chris Pratt.

The actor was married to the Guardians of the Galaxy actress from 2009 to 2018, and the couple announced their divorce in an August 2017 joint statement.

They met on the set of the comedy film Take Me Home Tonight, which was released in 2011.

Anna, who is widely known for her part in MOM, recently sat down for a honest interview with Rachael Bilson, who appeared as a guest on her podcast Unqualified.

‘For me, I think after every breakup, at some point I realize that there were a lot of things I ignored that I really shouldn’t have,’ she revealed to Rachel.

‘In hindsight, it felt like my hand was forced. I don’t think it was ever an independent decision,’ she continued.

The actress said that she didn’t have a tight group of girlfriends at the time, which meant she didn’t speak up about her problems to her friends.

She pondered, ‘I think it stunted me in a lot of ways. One of them being that I never talked about any issues, so to the people, even who I was closest to, I’m sure things were more transparent with my relationship with Ben [Indra, her first husband], but with Chris, I think that we both protected that imagery even within our close circles.’

She implied that she went through with the marriage because “everyone [was] expecting it”.

“I really feel like calling off an engagement is a smarter, stronger, braver move than what I did, which was like, ‘well, I guess everyone is expecting this, so let’s just go through with it’,” Faris remarked.

The Scary Movie star was previously married to Ben Indra from 2004 to 2008 before marrying Chris in 2009.

On Monday, when a podcast caller inquired about calling off her engagement before the wedding, Faris shared more about how she now sees her decision to remarry to Pratt so fast after her first marriage.

‘I really feel like calling off an engagement is a smarter, stronger, braver move than what I did,’ Anna said.

Anna and Chris have now carried on with their lives. Anna and her boyfriend Michael Barrett, whom she met in 2018, are blissfully engaged. Michael shot one of Anna Faris’ films, Overboard, as cinematographer. Chris, on the other hand, has been married to Katherine Schwarzenegger since 2019. Chris Pratt’s wife is an American novelist, and the couple is expecting their first child in August 2020.
