Several drone occurrences have been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department by Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have allegedly faced “unimaginable” levels of intrusion at their new residence, according to a story by The Daily Beast, citing a source.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are worried about the safety of their family after repeated instances at their Hollywood Hills home, where drones have flown as low as 20 feet above their property to take images of the couple and their young son, Archie.

“They see these drones coming in at them, and they guess that they are being operated by photographers, but they can’t just assume that,” a source told the outlet.

“Meghan received racist death threats at the time of her wedding, so the terror threat is very real for them.

“But, aside from that, imagine if you were in their shoes facing that, how that would feel? To have drones buzzing around 20 feet above your head when you are trying to play with your son?”

A “friend” added, “It’s like people forget they are real people. But this is a real family. They are not asking for any special treatment; they are just asking for the safety and security we all expect in our own homes to be respected.”

Furthermore, according to The Daily Beast, “Harry and Meghan are also becoming increasingly concerned by the antics of paparazzi in cars pursuing them to take photographs.”

At least five drone-related incidents have been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department’s non-emergency line. The Daily Beast has been informed that drone-related occurrences happened at their residence on May 9th, 19th, 20th, 21st, and 25th.

They also experienced “tailing and following them every day” they go out, leaving them “rattled” by automobiles “being driven very erratically”. According to the insider, one instance nearly resulted in an accident, which was “incredibly dangerous, shocking, and scary.”

According to an LAPD spokesperson, one incident was reported at 11:12 a.m. on May 20, with the report reading: “Unknown suspects were flying a drone in the area and were last seen on Coldwater Canyon.” According to a report for the Memorial Day attack, “a drone was flying over residences” and there is a “ongoing drone issue.”

It’s especially concerning for Harry, who has stated that every time he sees a camera, it reminds him of his mother, Princess Diana, who died in a car accident while being hounded by photographers in 1997.

Drones that cost as low as $1,000 may be controlled from a distance of several miles away and are commonly unregistered with the FAA. While GPS allows the drones to maneuver with pinpoint accuracy, live footage is broadcast back to the user’s mobile.

Harry and Meghan have recently stepped back from the royal family. When they made the big announcement, they disclosed that they would be spending their time between the United Kingdom and North America. They have spent time in Canada as well as Los Angeles.
